Well, the most awesome unique weapon in the game (like the Disintegrator and Plasma Rifle always crit in the Vanilla game and the Mysterious Stranger's .44 magnum in FO3) is a weapon that is not available in the game. It was introduced by the Dead Money DLC and is a tester's resource.
It's called the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Faderator It is a modification of the Gauss Rifle and appears to come with the Meltdown perk. It is fully automatic and and has endless ammo (you must have at least one round in your inventory.)
It fires multiple rounds per shot but uses only one cell, It has a magazine capacity of 255 and reloads without animation so that it is imperceptible. Its critical bonus is 60 (per round) and crit chance is x2
With a base damage of 40 per multifunction cell it's easy to see how the damage escalates. The Wiki calculates it this way: 120/shot = 20,160/second or 56 shots of 3 rounds per second. (The CZ57 Avenger and Gatling Laser have 30 shots/second.) For a real world comparison see the M61 Vulcan (A2) at over 100 (20mm) rounds per second or the Phalanx (Anti-ship, aircraft, missile) which fires the same round at 75 rounds per second.)
