I dont agree with that priestly. I believe they will revolutionize gaming once again in the future. They're to creative and talented not to.

They're already planning to revolutionize their DLC, in a sense, by stating it won't be 'bits and pieces' like every other game seems to do. Hopefully this means a game within a game type deal, because shivering isles was huge, and I expect skyrims version of shivering isles to blow me away, and maybe even revolutionize what we consider DLC.

cuz COD giving me a map and a spec ops mission every month is terrible, especially when I cant even download them unless I pay for it all @ once and then wait 9 months to have it released in spurts.

Shivering Isles was an expansion. No way are they giving that kind of content away as DLC, won't happen, not in a zillion years unless they price it as an expansion but it's actually DLC sized content which tbh I wouldn't put past them at all.

I think by releasing a game smaller in size would lead too a more regular release from games done by 1 devellopper if you feed that base game with continues DLC you can build everything around it making it bigger once your base game is running smooth there is more chance addons will addapt better too its code .

atleast thats what i think a smaller game could be much better too manage if it comes too Bug Hunt before release.

I wouldn't be suprised if they price it as an expansion, because the way they talked about the DLC this year, that's what they made it sound like, it was going to be an expansion on the game, not just bits and pieces.

To me that'll be revolutionizing the genre in a sense, especially when 90% of the DLC we see now, on any title, is nonsense and filler. I feel game companies purposely cut and chop the games up now to sell in 3 or 4 installments. I dont feel like that with Skyrim, thank god.

Well they kinda do this but they could do it more, no doubt they rushed themselves to the 11/11 deadline. Fortunately they don't have any overlord publisher, so if they want to they can.

Skyrim seemed a little rushed. Not to the point to where they didn't take their time, but that they had to leave some cool things out in order to focus on the more important aspects of the game, so they could have it out by 11/11/11. Next time, don't give me a specific release date. Just give me an expected time-frame and if they don't reach it, then it's no big deal to delay the game a bit further. Just don't take years on it.

I actually lost interest with Blizzard because they take too long. It's been nearly two years since Starcraft 2 came out and they still haven't released their expansion. That's just ridiculous. They need to hire a bigger staff. They've got the money now.

Not releasing the game until it's perfect and the most epic game of all time is the reason Duke Nukem Forever was stuck in development hell for as long as it was, and look how that turned out.

You have to release it when it's ready, not when it's perfect. Otherwise you're shooting yourself in the foot.

should they take a little more time? sure i wouldnt mind an extra year of development. but allow me to show you a cautionary tale of what happens when you take to long to release a game http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Van_Buren.

Honestly, if it's at all possible, I feel all developers and publishers should adopt a Blizzard/Nintendo "it's done when it's done" mentality.

Don't forget NC Soft's outlook on Guild Wars 2's development process. The other side of the coin being... Final Fantasy XIV. Oh, noes. I said it.

And yet Skyrim is so shallow.
Oh yeah it's very shallow. It's not like I can play for 50+ hours and barely be finished....

"Sigh" i admit i was being a bit extreme but you have to admit more time on both Oblivion and Skyrim would have done wonders.

We are always begging Bethesda to release there next game there next beloved Elder Scroll or Fallout game. But it's my opinion that Bethesda should take as much time as possible to make each Elder scroll game so good its not just considered the best game of the year or what ever, but the most epic game of all time.
Agreed. But time is money and the faster they can throw the games out to the wolves the faster they get their money for it. Understandably, but sad as it affects the games negatively.

All the time in the world wouldn't have provided Skyrim with the features that most people ask for, except for perhaps a bit more guild development. Other than that what you might have been given is a prettier wall here and there and fewer crashes/glitches, but they are much faster to identify and spot by releasing the game to the users.

There's only so much you can ask for a developer per game. Half of the complaints Bethesda only learns about until AFTER the game is released

They didn't really need more time. What they needed, was a more focused and better structured use of time.

Well been playing since the new patch and theres still the framerate drop lurking in the background and better its already there if you start a new game and entering whiterun and dragons reach , riften , winterhold , it seems there has too be some sort of conflict in the code that is difficult too track down imo .

if this was problem was solved before release im sure it would have made life seemingly easyer for the dev team , i mean all the smaller bugs are not that importand for me personaly as the frame drop because its get locked in your save meaning chances instability will increase during your walktrou its making me nervous.

And yes i was here too before Skyrim was released the forum was pretty friendly and everybody was eager too hear news about a possible release date for the next TES and im sure the dev team where also very exited .

so maybe my idea of creating smaller and more stable projects could have an positive impact on this whole awesome behavior and yes retail prices must be adjusted too this in the end the money will flow too beth and thats something i dont have problems with as long i have the feeling im been treathed correctly and im no crybaby when it comesw too spending money on someone i respect and love

this is not a rant from me but its more a way for me too look for solutions how things could work if they where aproatch from a different
way.

on a sidenote releasing more piriodic addons would also mean your company,s logo is seens on the net 24/7 Lol
