Bethesda tricked us with Dunmer voices

At least they have somewhat of a deep voice.

Remeber Oblivions Dunmer?
*Shudders*

Oh yeah they're a big improvement over Oblivion

I don't remember any problem, but then again I played the French dub. :)

On all of the pre-launch videos Beth released, the Dunmer voices were the same guy who did Morrowind's Dunmer. Yet he is not in the game. Why would they do that? They literally had him voicing the Dunmer stuck int he web in Bleak Falls Barrow, but in the game it is another person entirely with the same dialogue.
Referring to you title, did you buy the game only because of this voice?

That's because they hadn't got round to casting voice actors yet and wanted to release something to show, so they hired different people at the time. This thing happens quite a lot.

Yeah, it's like people have never even heard of the concept of a "placeholder". Voice acting is probably one of the last things to be done for the game. Why? Because you want to make sure you don't need to change the script before you bring in the voice actors, because you don't want to waste money paying them to record lines, then have to pay for another session to record different lines.

So, until late in the game's dev cycle, you can't really say that dialogue won't change (maybe the writers decide to change some Lore, and need to update the script, or maybe the dungeon/quest designer decides they need to add/change some lines, etc).

But, you want to get a trailer out in time for some tradeshow or something, so you have one of your 'staff voice actors' who works with you all the time do a voice for a bit.

All in all the Dunmer voices are much improved over Oblivion.

Agreed.

I wasn't tricked, I didn't want to watch videos of Skyrim before I release (excluding the trailer). I'm happy that the annoying Oblivion voice was gone...

Spoiler
Until I played Hircine's Quest. http://nooooooooooooooo.com/
Hircine's voice actor in Bloodmoon/Oblivion was better.
That was the first time I had to take off my headphones because of voice acting in Skyrim.
I don't have anything against the actor, it's just that voice doesn't fit a badass Daedra Lord like Hircine.
