Bethesda ? What the hell?

Where's your evidence that only a small number of people are experiencing bugs?

He said a small majority, ie "greater than fifty percent."

This is a claim that has been seen around a lot lately, and it's interesting that the people who are saying this are those without bugs. You made the claim, now back it up with figures, please.

On the other side, it's always the people with bugs who say "ZOMG everyone is having bugs, this game is crap!", and they never provide figures to back up their claims either.

Probably because there aren't any figures to be had. For either position.

I've completed alot of quests, luckily none ever game breaking, but some quests like 'I put a spell on you' I save before attempting. I get an occasional freeze or two, but only after...uh...playing 8 hours straight :blush2: .

The point is this, yes there are faults in the game, but alot of people are letting this get in the way of a good time, if I let everything get in the way of a fun time for me, I'd be bored as hell.

So, I'm waling along Freeside just minding my own business when I noticed something rather odd. The laws of physics, I found, do not apply there. There were clumps of grasses floating about 15 feet above the street. At another location during the quest to route the Legion from some town..Nelson or something..shrug..anyway one of the NCR troopers was being crucified but he had was floating in the air and facing the cross he should have been on.

Now I'm absolutely enjoying the FONV but...REALLY? REALLY? Someone said 300 testers were involved. I don't think so. I really do NOT think so. Ya, I know...Sith Happens and you can't catch everything. I've not had any game breaking bugs yet at 60 hours in, but if some very obvious little things like those I mention above exist..well.

Huh. I think it's better than Fallout 3. It also has more overall content then Fallout 3 so how is it an add-on? Oh well. Also; please don't resort to arrrr. That's pathetic and childish.

Not to mention the 'invisible' chairs and beds, IE they are sitting/sleeping just off the side of the chair or bed xD

I love the gameplay, but it's true - you should have waited to get the vast majority of bugs out of the game before releasing it. I've never had trouble playing recent games at the highest graphics settings available, and Fallout NV is almost unplayable at even the lowest setting due to it's choppiness. I was excited to start the game and in less than 15 minutes I was completely hindered from movement by simply walking under a tree?

I did a little quick research and found that there are still issues with nVidia cards? Really? Their overall market share is somewhere around 45% and you didn't really consider anyone using an nVidia card? Fallout 3 was one of the most popular games ever - you'd really risk that franchise?

I have experienced plenty of small bugs that seem to go away after a few seconds or minutes, nothing major, a little annoying but nothing gamebreaking for me.

I've had a few freezes but thats as serious as it gets.

Only thing I'm having trouble on is
Spoiler
monorail glitch (in the wiki they say its a glitch, not so sure) It goes off anyways and blowsup before you deactivate the charge.

Probably because there aren't any figures to be had. For either position.

As we can quickly see - neither side has enough verifiable data to back up a claim that they're in the majority. Without statistics of numbers of bugs - and something to compare that data to, it's always going to be just one of those cyclical arguments.

(ie, someone would have to do a quantitative anolysis of what percentage of every person playing any version of the game was experience how many bugs - and then be able to compare that data to a similar study done for a similar game. Or at the very least have some manner of defining what would constitute an "acceptable" level of bugs, and then compare that data to Fallout: New Vegas.)

The thing is, no one knows. Maybe the majority of players are seeing tons of bugs. Maybe they're not. Those coming to this forum looking for answers to problems they're experiencing probably don't even care about this, that much - I'm going to assume they want their issues fixed in a timely manner. Those of us who aren't having such problems - well, what do we care, then? (Because, worst-case scenario, we'd be one of the lucky few.)

Anyway, this particular argument falls into the "prove it or it didn't happen" rule of forum manners. Obviously, anyone who infers a majority of players are / are not experiencing large amounts of glitches are going to have to have something to back up that statement if they're going to expect anyone to believe them. As it stands, I don't see as how it would be verifiable either way.

Wouldn't it mean greater than 33% ?

(Unless we are speaking only of a specific platform... *I guess I need to read the whole thread* )

Scrap all that, since the number of sales is not equal among the released platforms. :banghead:

Bethesda didn't make this game! Please read up on the facts before blaming Bethesda! It is Obsidion's fault and Obsidion's games sometimes are full of bugs at launch.

Err... wait a second. Meyers is the sheriff of some town that took the law into his own hands, right? Well, I did that quest, got him his pardon, and he's the sheriff of primm now. I haven't been back to the prison to check for the alarm, but my quest was resolved fine. Unless I'm talking about the wrong person here.

No right person dude, you did the quest, but YOU didnt do the quest :)

when you finish the game it will say you failed the ncr prison siege and the radio will still say you failed it

so you failed.. you just dont know it yet

...

BTW quest for finding the spy is also bugged

If you disarm the damn bomb he plants they sill explode for some reason.

I think that most people actually have little to none game breaking bugs, it's just that EVERY SINGLE person who has comes onto these forums to whine about it. If you bought the game and had no problems with it why would you even be here?

Not for everyone though. I found the bomb, disarmed it, and went back to report. No boom.

I cleared the prison. The ending said it was left to decay, picked over by scavengers. No "failed" came up that I can remember.

I've now run into a few more things than I posted about before, finally one with a companion, but other than that, no. I haven't had major problems.

I've personally had no problems with it.. Not saying no one else has, but everyone I know who owns it (I'm on PC, my friends on PS3 and my other friends on Xbox 360) have not complained about game breaking bugs, especially quests that are broken.

As far as I'm concerned, Obsidian has delivered a superb game which face it, is buggy. Obsidian is doing their best to patch it, and are making sure it'll be in working order for their players. Considering that Obsidian tends to pick up projects that other companies have given out to them, they are working on a deadline set by someone else, who for whatever reasons may not agree with them begging for a 1 month delay to fix up a few bugs here and there. If you are so annoyed, then just play another game until it's ready. If that's not enough for you, just make an account to play the game until it's all patched up, so you can start a real character and play through without these bugs which are apparently so serious.

It's buggy, but no buggier than Fallout 3. I've encountered frustrating problems with both ED-E (won't attack anymore after upgrading armor) and Rex (stuck in brewery basemant) but they're hardly game-breaking. Some games are buggy when released. Should we accept it with a smile? No. Hardly. Let the company know that you are upset with their lack of quality control. But is whining going to solve anything? No. I am aware that I am playing this game almost like a beta tester, patiently awaiting a huge ol' patch. But honestly, 5 crashes in 60 hours and two companion bugs are hardly worth whining about for me either.

If that was replying to my post, no, I don't, and yes, it did.

This is my first character in FNV. Being as that this was my first playthrough, I know I've missed a t lot of quests, I haven't found all the companions, and there are a lot of markers still blank on my map.

I overheard the spy passing information on in the control tower. I left the tower, went to the monorail, found and defused the bomb. Monorail left. No boom. Reported to Hsu. I think I recall getting the mission from him.

Ask me about Morrowind, or Oblivion, or Fallout 3 and chances are good I'll remember enough to answer your question. Especially if you're playing as House Redoran. I can still tell you how to find the puzzlebox, and who to talk to along with the steps you need to take to finish the Caldera Mine quest for House Redoran. I've played in and through Morrowind and Oblivion with multiple characters. FNV not so much. Yet.
