Bethesda ? What the hell?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:48 am

Ok

i played this game for like 50 hours.

and i cant understand how a game that is brilliant like this can have so much insane gamebreaking bugs.

Am stuck AGAIN at "NCR prison" questline that makes no sense.

I dont understand that anyone at QA has actually tried to do this quest becouse i have not seen a singel soul online that have gotten this right.

Bethesda needs either to hire better testers og actually start testing this game becouse am finding old fallout 3 bugs in this game and that the modders at NEXUS work faster than the REAL "programmers"

1. Play the game, try the quests, FIX BUGS!!!!!
2.Sell Game
3.Fix hardware related bugs
4.Sell moar game
5.Profits

There is no excuse with scrip bugs in the damn quests.. give 10 testers 1 day with a level 60 char with all stats... goddamnit i could do it even.

WHEN the hell is the next patch comming?
i paid for this in steam, i understand a bug or 2 but am not a #¤%"#¤% beta tester

Hate to burst your bubble here, but that's impossible. You alone could not find EVERY SINGLE BUG before the game ships for release. Not even 10 testers by themselves could. Bugs usually happen RANDOMLY. So while you may not have a certain bug in your playthrough, someone else might. See what I'm getting at here?

There were around, was it, 300 testers for New Vegas. They could've found a majority of the bugs if they had more time between the game being finished and it being shipped off. But since Bethesda didn't want to change the deadline to allow for additional bug testing, we end up with what we have right now.

I myself have experienced very little bugs, but apparently a small majority (an oxymoron right there) of people seem to be either experiencing truly horrific bugs or are being overly dramatic about it. And seeing how most of these threads created by these people are along the lines of "OMG!!! DIZ GAYUM IZ SO BUGGAY", it leads me to believe the latter choice is the correct choice.

So calm down and be patient. Patches don't take a week or so to create. Most big patches take about a month or longer because they want to make sure they got rid of the bugs for good and didn't cause any more bugs in the process (something unofficial fixes seem to do).

Bethesda didn't make the game. They produced it.

I think if we restructure that sentence we can see how it should have been phrased...

I myself have not experienced many bugs also. Im not sure man, perhaps your doing the quest incorrect? I have done 3 play throughs, two of which I did friendly and the other I joined the Powder Gangers and took over Goodsprings and I didnt have that issue. Maybe if you describe your problem someone could help you out.

i speak on the behalf of even more

First of all, quests bugs should be fixed asap.

This is gamebreaking and since nobody anywhere has gotten this to work ever i say its a major flaw. and this is just 1 thing. i seen many people complaining about broken questslines.

I dare anyone to start a game and try to do the "i fought the law questline" where you attack the damn prison and see if anyone of you can do it and actually having the damn siege end.

"aka alarm goes off and radio says you done it and epiloge and all that" and still be able to talk to meyers "you wont becouse siege wont end :\"

And please dont go all devoted fan on me with the "bubble and whatnot" this is a [censored]up and bethesda knows it, just admit it and fix the problems.

if you really belive its good policy to shelve your game for 1-2 months so they can fix the gamebreaking bugs well.

Its like buying a car, getting home with it ... and finding it dont have motor, you can still sit in the car but it wont be the experience you wanted. and it dont [censored] help that the company said the motor will come in 1 month and that this is [censored] normal.

I understand how difficult it is to cover every bug in such a massive game, but at least be as diligent as possible. Obsidian saw how much bugs affected the review scores not only for New Vegas, even for previous games like Alpha Protocol.

But when it was a month before the game came out and they were talking about trying to still squash bugs and solve framerate issues, well now, I think we see the problem here.

Just give yourselves more time. I understand you're anxious for the money, but if you ever want these blockbuster projects to get blockbuster ratings, you're going to have to work on that.

I get your point, and I agree to an extent. But I have to say that some of the bugs that crop up do so after just a few hours of game play with no special limit testing. These bugs are so widely experienced that the fallout wiki points them out.

Fallout is an incredible game and an incredible story line, and is highly enjoyable. However, I'd go as far to say that if I hadn't played fallout, fallout2, and fallout 3, but started with fallout new vegas, I'd have quit after a few hours & requested my money back.

uuhhh..no if you buy a car and FAIL to realize it doesn't have a motor in it BEFORE you purchased it...then you're just a fool and deserve what you get.If you continue to buy that same vehicle that lacks a motor AFTER you know it lacks a motor....you're a fool and natural selection will take care of you.....terrible anology.

If they program their development program to find dependencies and results of the quests, they could find if there is a problem when something is done. Simple really, just need a programmer with strong logic.

I've done that already, cleared the outside area with boones help then stormed the inside killed the right people, quest completed, radio doesnt quote on half the stuff that goes on, the epilogue doesnt say every single thing either.

* When you help the NCR retake the prison, there is no event resolution. Meyers remains locked in the same bump speech as when the NCR is invading, thus making it impossible to complete My Kind Of Town by buying his pardon. Alarms continue indefinitely.

-'I Fought The Law' appears to have no parameters to actually finish the quest. Currently it is impossible to get a positive ending for the prison.

You done the quest dude, and got it completed but its not completed and the epilog will say the ncr prison was never attacked. and the alarm will never go away. and if you havent gotten meyers out before you will never get him unless you mod him directly.

This is a known bug and it has never worked.

Feel free try it for yourself. but still quest bugged. and its annoying for people like me that wanna do a clean run. not to mention the annoying flying radscorpions :\

yepp [censored] annoying :) since the parameters are gone you cant mod it either.. seems bethesda has more faith in us normal people than the actuall developers. it feels more like a mmo launch to me, some minor bugs ok, flying radscorpions ... well sort of ok... quest dont work... epic fail

@ OP I understand your frustration. While I havnt encountered any game breaking bugs, Ive had a bunch of little annoying ones like my gun will turn invisible when i crouch and other weird bugs like that. I just dont understand how theres this many bugs in the game. And to all the people saying 'you cant catch all the bugs during the game testing', ofcourse you cant catch them all but this is not an excuse when everybody has atleast seen one bug. Look at all, and i mean ALL, the reviews, they all complain about the bugs. I personally think obsidian doesnt have a bug testing team cause every game Ive played from them has bugs or feels incomplete (AP,KOTOR2,NV).

Agreed i think sombody in obsidian should get a reward "for content and story and such"

and somebody should be fired for implemention.

to understand my point

that explains it :)

Err... wait a second. Meyers is the sheriff of some town that took the law into his own hands, right? Well, I did that quest, got him his pardon, and he's the sheriff of primm now. I haven't been back to the prison to check for the alarm, but my quest was resolved fine. Unless I'm talking about the wrong person here.

As a former game tester...( I have done dozens of Alphas and Betas ) I can understand some bugs not being squashed before release ( Patch after wards mentality ).
But some of the glitches in this game are un-excusable...

Where's your evidence that only a small number of people are experiencing bugs?

This is a claim that has been seen around a lot lately, and it's interesting that the people who are saying this are those without bugs. You made the claim, now back it up with figures, please.
