Bethesda you should pay us back!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:46 pm

I rarely get so angry and post stuff like this on forums but enough is enough. I own a PS3 version of this game and as much as i love the story and open world Bethesda has made a crappy version on PS3. I cant play it more then sometimes 2 min before it freezes, its totally unreliable. Sometime it works for 2h sometime 5min. Last night it froze 3 times before i got so angry that i quit playing.
I am one of those perfectionist that always finish the games and discover all the sidequests but with this game i just want to finish it as soon as possible so i can sell it.
Bethesda i will never ever buy another game from you at the release and as soon as i hear about bugs then i skip your game cause i know your incompetent or ignorant to fix them. You have had so many months and pushed several patches and the game still crashes, has slow down.
I got a brand new PS3 with lots of free space so i dont buy the crap that this only affect a few people. It affect ALL PEOPLE who like me explore and gather of stuff (big file size comes to mind but not sure that is the only cause).

Any way the game should never ever freeze, the fact that it has not been fixed after so much time shows how important your customers are.
With that said i think you should compensate us by paying back atleast half the money we payed for the game because its really not a enjoyable experience anymore and the game is BROKEN!
If i had bought a TV that shuts down randomly guess what the maker would do? correct fix it or pay back the money so why should games be different!

I'm very sorry that your game isn't working. I understand that you're angry - I would be too - but it DOESN'T affect all PS3 players. My game works perfectly, and I'm on a PS3. Its just down to luck, I'm afraid. Perhaps ask a mod to move this to the hardware forum and see if anyone there can help you out?

Sad to hear that. On PC the game never freezes. I think your problem is there because Bethesda wanted to release the game same time for all the platforms. After all TES games are PC-game series so I think it would be good if they in future does it same way they did with Morrowind: First release the game for PC and then with time translate it to playable version for consoles.

i understand your "angry" ,but there is no need to use such a language, neither to open a thread like this here.

I suggest you to ask for a refund directly at your local store explaining your reasons if you've bought recently the game . i'm sure they will understand

Of course if you've played it for months it will be silly asking now for a refund or an exchange with another product.

In this case you can only search for possible solutions to your problems in this forum and the net.

Sometimes such problems are due even to other "technical" reasons, however,as Solitudian have already said to you, there is an apposite Ps3 section here on the forum

Sounds like bad luck to me, I've got a PS3 that's a few years old and after about 150 hours of playing Skyrim I'd say it's frozen/crashed maybe eight times. A minor irritation compared to the amount of fun I've had from the game.

Next ES will be on next gen consoles and won't be limited by the consoles. Blame sony and microsoft for being too lazy to release new consoles.

It comes down to the PS3 I'd say.
All games have bugs and problems, and it works great on other platforms.
The PS3 is old, face it.
I have four friends who play this at PS3, their games works perfectly, no more freezes than other games give.

This is the exact reason i prefer a PC, it never get's "outdated" because it constantly gets upgraded :S

Like a couple of other people have said, it doesn't affect all PS3s. I've never had any major slowdown and I'd say i've had 6> crashes. That being said, I dont think i've gone far past level 30 with a character before making a new one.

As a former PS3 Skyrim player i feel your anger, The game had poor performance and low fps from the very start for me, To be fair from patch 1.4 things did improve but not enough for me so i moved over to the 360 and it was a huge improvement.

I have since built a decent PC and can't honestly ever see me going back to console gaming.

The PC version of Skyrim (though certainly not without it's own issues) really opened my eyes to how much consoles really are holding gaming back.

I know PS3 has less RAM the other systems but never the less its just an excuse. I play tons of other games without issues so this comes down to bad coding.
I dont believe this is Hardware problem at all simply for what i just said, batman, Borderland, ME2.....Work perfectly fine without a single hickup.
You guys must be extremely lucky if its working for you. For me a few times i even had to rebuild the filesystem once the game froze. i think Skyrim is messing up the HD somehow.

@Cicero: This is a open forum for all users and all topics and also our gateway to Bethesda. We are not living in a communist country so i hope i can create a thread and express what i feel freely without others (your) approval!. I dont use any bad language that is excessive.

@VaL of Purple/Solitudian
: How long have your friends played the game? can you check how big their save file is? mine is about 9Meg now, i had much less problem when it was down at 3-4.

ps. Thanks for the comments
pss. I lovet the story in this game which is why i have stick with it but i'm soooo mad that i cant really enjoy the game and have to save every 5 min :(
I have considered going to the shop for refund or actually change the game (intressted in Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning) but i do want to finish this game since i invested so much time into it already and want to see the ending......

I have a very good pc (prepared for Diable+GW2) but i love console for the simple fact that i just start it up and play with a comfortable controller sitting on the couch.
Most games are of course not as good looking as in PC i agree but they are very enjoyable in my opinion so i do prefer console over pc for most games but for strategy games, MMO i do prefer my PC.

ALL people? Or just PS3 people? I have xbox and have only had one glitch and Im 3/4 through my first character and I save as often as I can... So no, I dont think every person is affected, just PS3 and a few 360 players....

Mine was not an "approval", it was a simply "suggestion/advice" in good faith.

However i don't need "lessons" or explanation from you on "what this forum is" - but i'm still sure that this is the wrong section to post your problem and that terms like "incompetents" "crappy" "crap" "ignorant" referred to Bethesda developers and their product are offensive and totally misplaced here.

Express what you feel freely, but doing it in an educate and moderate way perhaps would be more appreciated by the subjects of your "thread" and owners of this space (Bethesda) just another suggestion, you see.

There are many ways to get attention, and the title of your thread was already a provocation totally misplaced in my opinion, like your opening post that is also caddish.

Not a valid arguement for consoles.

I (using my PC) sit on my couch and play Skyrim with a wireless 360 controller (could also use a PS3 controller if i wanted to).
And i 100% guarantee i could bring my PC out of standby and be playing Skyrim way faster than either console.

Then go and play it.

Why must every post where somebody dares to criticise the PS3 version have replys from people like you categorically disputing any flaws with it.

If your game is 'perfect' then good for you, go play it.

I have been playing it.

I suppose you play on PS3 so you're inherently butt-hurt that your experience hasn't been as good as mine..?

Well done for showing your intelligence as well as your inability to read before posting uninformed nonsense.

If you had read my previous posts i quite clearly state that i play Skyrim on the PC.

Also Inherently implies a permenant and inseperable element, Your use of the word is incorrect.
