There is no such thing as mutated version of English. Languages evolve all the time, especially when it exposed to different cultures. Might as well say Modern UK English is a mutated version of medieval English.

Exactly! If the languages never evolved, Yorkshire would still be named Jorvik after the vikings. It means Horse Bay i think.

I believe that the current system with chest and pants are due to design choices. In Oblivion some combinations made the characters glitches where the pants and chest piece didn't connect properly and the graphical glitch were visual.
This sounds very reasonable to me. I'm inclined to believe this before I believe Bethesda's "more NPCs on the screen" explanation. Where are all these extra NPCs, anyway?

They did state why they took out the pants area already. The Nordish armours were usually covering most of the leg area so they simply combined both of them together.

Mainly the idea was to stick to a sense of the region culture wise.

P.S. You can't really call it what you want, we invented the language and you chose to speak our language, its not up to any American to change the language, also in the English/American dictionary Pants is NOT the synonym of trousers. On topic...Besides Skyrim is based of Vikings who were traditional English/Latin speaking, so technically they are/should be called Trousers in the land of Skyrim. Drop the whole Patriot act please. For the love of Skyrim? :tes: In England we also say Kekks and Trou, but we don't claim that its an evolution of the English language, its just slang, where in retrospect, You calling trousers pants could be seen as slang and not correct.

By the way, Germanic Tribes "Invented" your English Language. Historic Fact.

I doubt that, as if that were the case, they would have made your character wear only certain types of armor/weapons but as it is, the thalmore design is nothing near the Nord design. If you mean that NPC's should look more complete to a certain design, it would just been to put the matching pair of those 2 to make it more consistent.

Pants or trousers or whatever is forbidden to women in the bible (deut 22 v5)
I suppose Bethesda employees are jus pious people and they follow the divine will.

And you, you will burn in hell with your pirate and her pants or her trousers

Jesus christ. I hate how the cuirass and the greaves are connected to each other. Because back in Oblivion I made this awesome pirate chick. With leather armored pants and a [censored] and some light armored boots. I wanted to make another pirate like chick in Skyrim, but all the Clothes turn into [censored] dresses for the woman. Bethseda are you against pants on a woman? Especially an adventuring woman. The only thing close to pirate is the Hammerfell garb, but it looks quite ugly on my woman. I want to be able to mix cloth and light armor and put my lady in some pants. Why does everything have to be a dress for the ladies?

It seems they have always done that..that is turning into ugly dresses or skirts on women. Took me forever to find decent clothes in previous games, and ya I mixed and matched cloth and light armor as well. At least the robes are far nicer in Skyrim compared to previous games. I'm one of those players that can spend hours getting the perfect gear-no not for the stats, for strickly the look I'm trying to achieve..and then I play in first person. haha Silly I know, but I get gratification out of it. Of course I can still spend hours playing house too. I miss things staying put as they did in Morrowind, however I like the gravity of the newer systems. Perhaps a way to lock stuff down in houses once you get it properly placed would be nice.

Number of Americans > # of Canadians + Brits + Aussies and NZers, I believe. But in true internets form, I'm too lazy to Google up the answers. ;)

[[ For the record us Canadians call them PANTS too ]]

Did I really see a ridiculous derailing debate on the English "pants" vs. American "pants"? That involved calling someone a jerk and country bashing on both sides? :stare: Are you guys, like, seven?

Stay on topic, some people feel like discussing their armor issues. I thought I would be annoyed, but mostly I don't care. At least most of the dudes are also wearing skirts, and showing a tantalizing bit of thigh

You're American, that is why.

Any country which speaks english, and not one of its mutated versions, will say trousers as outer clothing and pants as underwear.

In the US trousers and pants are the same thing. We call undergarments underpants or underwear. I wouldn`t consider that mutated english.

Same thing for me as well. Because I had a vision in my head of what kind of character I want. How the character looks, behaves, and dresses as well. And I don't always like putting people in armor.

If you watched their interview, they said that they HAD to conect the Cuirass with the Greaves so there is more variety in armor and also it's possible to add more NPC's in the Screen.. Do you prefer the Deserted Cities that Oblivion had ?
that was an outright lie, there is no more NPCs in a single area than in the battle of bruma in oblivion. they combined on a whim, and gave pathetic excuses to cover their tracks <_<

It's not Jesus's fault!

I think they did that to make what you wear match, which is something girls, (especialy pirates) always make a big fuss about anyways. lulz.

The only reason i can think of why they did it this way was make sure the armors didn`t clip. Mixing and matching greaves and briastplates in past games had some clipping issues people moaned about. So they took that problem out of the picture. Making sure every briastplate model didnt clip too bad with every greave model takes alot of time. But there is a slot for shirts and pants to be worn together and seperately. Once the cs comes out and blender and nifskope are updated for these new nifs, you will see alot greaves and briastplate mods.

I thought Vikings were from Scandanavia? Therefore aren't they Germanic, and not English/Latin? And who cares if you guys invented the language? Its like saying hey since we used the language first you cant speak it. Drop the Patriot Act rofl, drop the stereotypical stuck-up Brit act please. PS I'm Canadian, I only defend the English language when the inclusion of 'U' in spelling is contested.

IMO its unfortunate we can't mix and match upper and lower body armour parts, don't know how it justifies the whole thing about more variety...
