The most important thing I find in straight odds games is not the basic strategy from hand to hand or roll to roll, but betting strategy from hand to hand. I am pretty proficient at overall winning while losing quite a few hands. My strategy goes like this:

My friend, lets call him Spawlding McGillicutty, had a way of playing blackjack. He called it Spawlding McGillicutty's school of gambling. This applies to our escapades in Puerto Rico while playing blackjack. Having a set amount of money (better to have a lot), you bet a sum (usually minimum bet) and if you lose, you double it. If you lose again, double it again. So on and so forth until you win. Once you win you start back to the amount of your first bet. This strat takes time and a large amount of money. The payout is dependent on the min bet of the table and how much time you have. 5+ times in a row loosing is going to hurt, but it is more then likely, so plan your tables and their minimum bets when picking where you sit. The net gain is dependent on your first bet and how many times you win that first bet. Slow but sure.....have a crap load of money
First bet: 5 fallout monies (lose)
Second bet: 10 fallout monies (lose)
Third bet: 20 fallout monies (lose)
Forth bet: 40 fallout monies (lose)
Fifth bet: 80 fallout monies (lose)
(have AT LEAST 5x the opening amount you plan to bet)
