Blender Discussion

I use it quite a lot, albeit for mostly fairly trivial stuff like creating new items of clothing and such. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Blender: I love what it can do, but I find its archaic OpenLook-style interface to be awkward and capricious. Then again, many people would level the same accusation at me, so pot, meet kettle, etc.

At present I've tried various ways of trying to con it into creating a mesh that I can somehow import into Skyrim by way of playing with file version numbers in Nifskope and such. I've so far failed dismally in my efforts.

This isnt a blender model, Was made in Zbrush, but its still 3d modelling so its not much offtopic :)

Was going for a sorta elvish look with this. I usually struggle in zbrush to get the blade looking the right sorta shape/sharpness, but it turned out not too bad this time.
I always struggle with the transition between handle and hilt. Usually ends up looking a bit odd, as i think this does slightly.
Though it may not be helped by the fact that the handle looks a bit large compared to the rest?

Opinions?

The grip is rather thick at the crossbar end; ideally would be as little as 1/2 the width down there. Albion's swords are rather well researched, you could have a glance at the various swords on http://www.albion-europe.com/ to get an idea of the proportions. Good model, otherwise. :)

Odd. I get this message for every video i try to view. Tried making account etc, but still the same thing.
Ive tried going to the Vimeo plus page, but it says $9.95 a month.

Are you trying to watch the videos on the Blender Cookie website or do you open them on the vimeo website? Because you can't watch them on the vimeo website, you have to do it through Blender Cookie.

I'm trying to sculpt an axe... http://i.imgur.com/kqQSV.jpg my reference image and http://i.imgur.com/JrIq2.jpg what I've got so far :P

About two hours in Blender, 10 minutes for the initial modeling and the rest for the sculpting part. It's my first time sculpting so I'm pretty slow

I decided to do something unusual today, so I decided to create an anime-style sword. It took about 45 minutes and I haven't started on the detail yet.
