I am bored playing skyrim... how can i enjoy it?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:35 am

Play an orc who only goes into the cities and villages when absolutely necessary. Spend most of your time in the orc settlements.

Rules: No selling/buying from non-orc NPCs. No houses in cities. No non-orc followers.

Don't try to rush through the game. Finishing everything doesn't require that you have no life. Play 30 minutes or an hour per day if you like.

The Elder Scrolls games aren't ones that you truly "finish". Just explore and complete quests as you go and don't treat the game like some task or job that you want to get over with.

btw...thanks for the perk calculator link. Things like that should be listed in one thread and stickied.

Perhaps Skyrim is getting boring because of the various bugs and glitches and lack of additonal all new creatures and the lack of all new areas and dungeons!

Wow, you are so original. Head over to the witcher2-forum and search for nightwishnz. Hilarious reading

Anyway, op, stop thinking about classes, levels and character progression and just play :)

i read some people that make a brief story of his character, are they nerd that want that the life like the videogame or are they only make a sense of what they do? i think thta this is a bit nonsense..

maybe is that my problem i need to do a sense of playing him, for example when i make my first mage i made him because i wanted to try the mage, i saw some video on youtube how mage are powerful and i started one... lol, myabe i need a reason to go ahead... uhm...

These lines pretty much nails the reason why you dob't enjoy the game.

If you want to give the game a proper go and enjoy it to the fullest you should think of this game as the "nerds" who make a story about their character. Then again if you feel that is nonsene quite possibly roleplaying games isn't for you. Skyrim isn't a game that serves the action on a plate to you like some other games. It doesn't push you forward like Divinity 2 or like Dragon age 2, istead you an do what you want when you want.

you love creation more that playing. I had got this problem with The Sims.
I think you choose a player but everytime your appetite (!) rises just go and create another one but don't play that. just create it and leave it alone! this worked for me!

VERY constructive.....

Play Dragon Age Origins or The Witcher instead.

Even MORE constructive

Try a pure mage, using all schools of magic, worked for me, Im loving it. All the other warrior / assassin / thief characters bored me as well....tooooooo repetitive.

I... I cringe as well. It's up to YOU, the "director" so to speak to get what you want out of this game. Is that a little ambitious on Bethesda's part? Yeah, probably, especially with a game marketed towards console gamers who are used to linear direction. The one saving grace I guess, as Riskybiz pointed out, you DO have the ability to create your own backstory and make it somewhat interesting - you just have to restrict or allow certain things.

And hell, make an orc shaman, one of the more fun builds I've messed with. (Elemental fury, shock/fire/frost spells [the weak ones], and berserker rage) and hey! it's all of a sudden your favorite WoW game with none of the annoying 12 year olds bothering you.

Take a break from the game, play something else, then get back into it.

Why don't you create a warrior, mage and rogue all at the same time, when you start getting bored of one character, save the game and load up another character with a completely different play style. If you keep getting bored so quick then perhaps Skyrim is just not the game you wanted it to be and move on?

It sounds like your use to playing MMOs. I did to use to play MMO I loved FF 11. But that game gotten soo unbalanced it stopped being fun and people only wanted to take the fast track to leveling not to sit back and enjoy the game. I have a feeling that WOW is the same way. Just sit back and enjoy the game and understand that this is a single player game.

I got burnt out as well. Played a little too much too quick. Oh well

That's yet another great thing about Skyrim. It will be there when you come back. And I think you most certainly will.

Just made a comment that reflected the style you used that is all.

The you completely missed my point.

I commented on how you almost always complain about the game and comment on people who recommend and like the game, almost (ALMOST!) to the point where the term "fannboi" pops up.
Now if you look at your posts in the other forum, the tables are turned and you take the role that you critisice so much here. The irony...

Now.... Your comeback to that is to comment that it somehow was hilarious that I have bought mw3 for my Xbox. You see the difference?

Change your character mid stream...start them off as a sword and board warrior..then throw in spells and shield...it might help trying things that way.

Yes we get it, you don't have to try so hard at proving what you really are. You already posted this less than 4 hours ago in this very thread...
