Bored with skyrim, now what?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:20 pm

If you want solid 4-player Co-Op and lots of stuff to do, get Resident Evil: ORC. I've unlocked 35/50 achievements in the few days I've owned it. Almost ALL of them are easy peasy to get. Plus the gameplay is just fun, I've played the Campaign so many times now I can't count. And I'm still not bored of the (only) 7 missions you have.

Multiplayer is really fun, but you have to make sure you have good guns and abilities. Everyone else does, lol.

EDIT: And a special Spec-Ops campaign line DLC is coming on Wed. for FREE! :D

Kingdoms of amalur?

this and fallout 3 if you haven't played it. I enjoyed my time with amalur, and fallout 3 too. Just don't bother with new vegas, it wasn't that good IMO

My obsession now is Mount & Blade Warband. That game may not have flashy graphics as Skyrim but is light years ahead of Skyrim in terms of gameplay. M&B has one of the most remarkable mount combat that I've seen. The battles and castle sieges are a blast with all those medieval infantry soldiers fighting. Even some ration food stuff gets spoiled if you carry it for too long. This little company can teach Beth a thing or two about gameplay.

This is why I asked about New Vegas. Some say Fallout 3 is king and Vegas svcks. Some say otherwise.

This, the game mechanics also make more beleivable characterisations than Skyrim, (King Harlaus the Fat)

Fallout 3 has a larger, better designed world, and is also more familiar to those who have played Elder Scrolls games.

New Vegas in my opinion, is the better game (not that 3 was terrible), but it released with terrible bugs, and is overall more like the original Fallout games.

Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite RPGs ever, you should definitely give that a try. And Fallout 3 would be a good one too if you like Bethesda games. I haven't played New Vegas, but it sounds like it's even better.

I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins at the moment and having a lot of fun; although I'm not really a fan of the strategy style combat. Your party can get themselves into stupid positions unless you micro-manage everything (and I keep wanting to be able to pan the camera using WASAD in the aerial view). It can be hard to see what's going on in a big melee. Epic story though, full of political intrigue and real consequences to your actions. Some iffy voice acting in parts and some bugs.

The original Mount & Blade is probably the most addictive game I've ever played, and I have absolutely no idea why. It has no plot, you make your own story through a series of large real-time third or first person battles, conquering lands and becoming more powerful. M&B: Warband is the same game with more polish and multiplayer. PC exclusive though.

Fallout 3 and NV are TES in an apocalyptic wasteland. Fallout 3 is anyway - a lot of exploration and discovered detail; whereas NV is more plot/dialogue/consequence driven. I like both equally, but for different reasons.

Planescape: Torment!

It's "slightly" dated, but the best RPG ever made. :)

Hi,

the original Mount&Blade with The Last Days(LOTR) total conversion. It absolutely blows away anything Bethesda and most any AAA developer made since Morrowind.

I got bored with skyrim. Maybe because i played too much of it. I tried oblivion and morrowind and they are good.
What other games are as good as skyrim? Just wondering.
I m not much of a bf3/cod fan so FPS games are out of the question.

No one can tell you objectively what other games "are as good" as Skyrim, everyone have his personal tastes so you've to find it out.
But if you've liked Skyrim i think that you will be more confident with Fallout 3 than New Vegas, just to mention two of the games already suggested here that i've played

I like the Amalur demo and will get the full game eventually. Once I'm bored with Skyrim (got to happen eventually, right?), I'll probably go back to Red Dead Redemption and do some serious hunting. Still haven't finished the Undead Nightmare DLC or Dragon Age: Origins Awakenings.
