Word is that there will only be one crossbow usable by the player, and that the one and only way to get one is by siding with the Dawnguard. This was supposedly confirmed by an online article, but it sounds a little phony to me, as there is no direct quote from the developers in the article saying that this was confirmed, only that it's according to some Q&A somewhere. :facepalm:

incorrect, noted on other thread and discussed http://www.pcgamer.com/videos/skyrim-dawnguard-gameplay-interview-e3-2012-BWBWrZV1d24sS in PCGamer interview - there will be many crossbows and smithing for them

I'm guessing your bow downgraded in status from Legendary to regular. Same thing happened to me with the patch. Check if it is.

no its still smithed to the max thats the first thing i checked

either way crossbow or no crossbow....overpowered or not bows in general should not take 7 headshots to kill a person bethesda should fix that...i can see if they are wearing heavy plated helmets or armor but either way bows are way under powered 1.5 at least evened it out alittle
