A Call to the Wolfpack #3

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:45 pm

One must prove themselves worthy of the pack first by sharing a glorious story of a hunt first. Other wise they shall be viewed as a vampire spy trying to undermine the pack.

Colonel Badass has smartened up and realized that it's a futile endeavour trying to kill a werewolf, there's none how can hold a candle to our strength.

Still, we could use the pups to catch arrows

The peace is off it' a ruse!
Death to the bloodsvckers!
I promise, that was a younger, less experianced me. I believe that peace through coexistance is easier and better in the long run than peace through exterminating one of the sides.

Difficult, dangerous and reckless, but not futile. Do not confuse my attempts for peace as a sign that I believe you are stronger.

Off Topic and on a sidenote. A while back I mentioned a diary. Here's what I came up with so far.

Diary of a drifter.

The things that have transpired over the past few days are nothing short of strange and ominous. Strange creatures showing up with unrelenting hospitality. An ancient blackened fortress appeared out of nowhere. As if it rose from the depths of the ocean, or perhaps something deeper and darker. And the cadavers seem to have tapped into new powers. I dare not to venture close to the fortress. Only a few days ago I was attacked by something that looked like it was carved out of a solid rock. It nearly took my right eye. And I know for certain, that it came from this dark place. I’m certain it is a host to a lot more of these creatures and something else. Something on a whole new scale. I can feel it’s hunger gnawing on my very soul even from this very distance. It sends a sweaty chill up my spine. I have not felt such things since I was tested in the eternal hunting grounds.

Two days ago, I was going about my favorite business, which is hunting. These days the companions are doing well without my presence. Kodlak’s decision was a sudden one, but also one I was dragged into. I’m thinking of stepping down. I have no wish of being a harbinger. It never was my wish. It’s just that I do not know of how to explain myself to them.
I always use the same excuse, to get away from my responsibilities. Aela knows. She can see the hunt in my eyes. It’s always there, dormant, until Hircine calls to me. To be honestly I’m not even sure if it’s Hircine’s doing. The beast blood is strong, but this hunger has been within me since my first hunt. I’m ranting.. waste of paper…

I was near the high elf base. A strange place. Surrounded by walls and shrouded in secrecy. It would almost seem they’re looking for something. Every quarter hour a group comes in and another goes out. I’ve seen them patrolling these lands and even took a few of them out when my inner rage lashed out at them. They were bringing in a fellow nord. He was bound and shamed and I could not let this pass. The nord prisoner ran away scared when he saw me slashing down the elves and I decided not to scare him any further and let him run to safety as Rorikstead was near. I found nothing on the elves’ bodies though. A secretive lot.
Anyway, I saw a magnificent cat and decided to follow it to it’s den. His fur was the same colour as the snow it threaded upon. A bulging belly dangled underneath it’s back. It would seem this one had already eaten and was in no mood for a good fight. Damnit ! I really needed some distraction from my situation at Jorvaskr. But then, something caught my eye. From the corner of my eye… no not the corner of my eye. I could simply feel it. Something was watching me. Something had been following me for quite some time and I had been completely unaware.

Immediately I cast a shield spell and drew my bow. It was fast! Within an instant it had closed in on me and I felt my shoulder cracking from the blow it delivered. By Talos! It was as if I was being hit by a granite boulder. Being barely able to pull the string towards me, I aimed an arrow at the creature and released it from my fingers. The arrow flew towards the black beast and bounced off. I could not believe what I was seeing. My arrows even pierce the thickest ebony, but this creature deflected it with nothing but his skin. My weakened shoulder might have been the cause as well, but I could still not believe it.
I was being cornered and had to come up with something fast, before this creature would bash in my skull.
Then I remembered a trick I had learned from a scholar inside a draugr tomb quite some time ago. With my left hand I summoned a flaming wolf which immediately charged towards my enemy. With my right hand I renewed my magic shield and put on my most precious procession. The ring went neatly around my finger and I roared out loud. My shoulder was being fixed by the transformation and it was hurting beyond any pain I’ve ever felt. Luckily it did not last very long. My flaming familiar had distracted the creature long enough for me to change. As usual, I felt a deep red hunger swelling up. With a howl that seemed to come from my stomach I charged towards my enemy. I jumped up and landed my claws right on it’s head. It shattered with a loud crack and what remained of the creature crumbled to a pile of rubble.

After I calmed down I felt my body shrinking and changing back again. I inspected the remains of the creature, but found nothing more than a pile of crumbled rock. Pitch black rock. It did not even reflect light. A gargoyle? I’ve heard about them from the greymane blacksmith once. But he told about these creatures as if they had been made up. The kind of talk that goes with a long evening and too much mead. Could they be true then, such old wives tales?

 NICE
I for one cannot wait to hunt a gargoyle, test my claws against their stone  Legendary dragons should prove a good challenge as well, just 7 more days :bunny:

I forsake the bloodlust of our younger members, even if I must kill them to do so.

At least you acknowledge the fact that vampires are not superior to us werewolves, you seem to have a health respect for what we're capable of or is more of a self preservation thing? Either way you seem smarter then most other vampires

I will keep to the shadows for now and accept this truce. However, should you decide to betray us. I will clip your festering wings and hang you with your own intestines.

If I was stupid enough to betray the trust of the pack, I would love the challenge of fighting a lycan. Unfortunately, I must go now, drinking blood and whatnot. Ta ta ;)

I say yay

Let the vampires hunt with in our territory, a mutual respect should bind us. That's all that needs to be kept in mind.
Pay heed though, our hearing is keen, our sight is as sharp as our claws, we're keeping a close eye. Our trust should not be mistaken for weakness :goodjob: or else :liplick: ...

Should the sky go black and the sun die I shall not starve. For vampires are crunchy and good with garlic, and ghosts taste of mint julip.

A little red wine goes nice with vampire

I'm giving the challenge another go in 15 minutes, it was a failure last night  I left Ivarstead and took the old way, the one that circles the base of the Throat of the world leading to the Alchemist shack and then leads to Helgen. Anyway I made it to Morthal and started my attack on the front gate, everything was going very well. I rushed in unnoticed and made quick work of the two guards on the gate and the stable keeper and his two dogs, I then ran up into the first tower pouncing on the guard at the top I grabbed him by his helm shook until I heard his neck snap like a twig and threw his lifeless corpse clear of the guard tower. I then leaped down, the instant my paws hit ground I sprinted up into the second tower but by that point the guard in here expected my arrival and had his sword and shield at the ready, I made the first move and by luck of placement of his shield only manage a glancing blow. I anticipated the timing of his swing and backed away just as the tip of his sword removed some fur from my belly, and in return I pounced once more, knocking him to his back I leaned in and bit down on his neck filling my mouth with blood which spilled out onto the stone floor of the guard tower.

As I made my way down to start feeding on my bounty of food an ancient dragon soared over the city and took immediate notice of me and made a tight circle out over the bridge lining up for a strike. As the dragon was speeding in my direction I heard him take in a deep breath in preparation for a blast of fire, out of instinct I sprinted into the dragon effectively canceling his breath of fire and only taking 1/4 of the damage a head on blast would have given. But this dragon wasn't no normal dragon, this was an ancient dragon and was wise enough to make a sharp turn back at me. It's the sharpest turn that I have ever seen a dragon make and now I'm staring down the very nose of this blasted dragon, with the very ground shaking under the weight of this massive dragon I made my move and sprinted in to take advantage of the beast's moment of weakness. I managed to knock the dragons health down to about half in the time it took for the dragon to get it's bearings but to no avail, the dragon only need to make one bite and I was finished. The dragon bit down almost swallowing me in one bite, but instead of making quick work of me it shook me with it's jaws until I was limp and in a final act of savagery the dragon flung me to the river. The last image was of my lifeless corpse rushing over the falls under the main bridge.

Sadly in the thrill of the challenge I forgot to save at any point of my run, so I have to start from Ivarstead all over again :swear:

I can accept to live in peace with these vampires, but blocking the sun is something I can't agree with. If that's your true goal then you are my enemy, be it vampire or werewolf.

Fair enough, I'm no mans master. I will not dish out orders, just ask that you be patient and see what happens. Perhaps he is a sign that not all vampires see us as personal guard dogs  But it is your territory, you can do as you please.
