A Call to the Wolfpack #3

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 5:44 am

This thread is all about the collective knowledge of the pack, feel free to add your knowledge to the whole, share you back story of your wolf or share a story of you night out hunting.

ALL HAIL THE PACK!! :drag:

First two threads:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1369690-a-call-to-the-wolfpack/
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1381705-a-call-to-the-wolfpack-2/page__fromsearch__1

last two comments:
Falkreath. Master. Challenge accepted. I'll try that in an hour.

Of course, I'm not expecting much of a challenge. I may play on adept, but I know how to use my strength to my advantage. If I can clear out giant camps on adept without losing any health, by Hircine I can handle falkreath on master.
Let me know how you fair, the biggest hunt I've done on master is I ate most of Whindhelm and all of Riverwood, was not an easy task but I did it

edit : I should have mentioned that I went into building as well ( those that I could ) at the end of my supper at Falkreath I had eaten a total of 15 NPC's. 8 guards patrolling the streets, 5 inside the guards barracks and 2 civilians that just so happened to be out side at the time who also decided to try and stab me with iron daggers. :drag:

You forgot my comment, so I'll just post it again:

Ok carrots, I'm back from attempting this challenge. The rules were: falkreath, master, outside and inside, and no survivors. My character is level 42 with the totem of brotherhood. I made 1 attempt at this *commercial break* and it was successful!

I wolfed my way over there, feeding off bandits along the way. When I arrived, the sky was filled with the bloodmoon. I made sure there were no survivors and my health never dipped below 90%. Also, I did not use any method of exploiting. I endured the full feed animation and I never retreated. It was my most savage hunt yet.

The only thing that bothered me was the jarl's house because all but 1 person was essential there. After this, I'm done with adept. I don't see a point anymore knowing that I can handle master.

People complaining about werewolves being weak clearly don't know what they are talking about. My characters have been werewolves since 11/11/11 and I still enjoy being one. the character that did this is my newest character (and final) that was made just for role playing as a werewolf.

Had a Great hunt today it all started by accident (I swear) I was tracking a thug through the forest (I'd killed his mates after they tried to 'teach me a lesson') stalking him having fun sprinting out of of the woods and roaring at him sending him fleeing again, got bored and and ate him that's when the fun started 4 imperials came at me then another 3 I realised then they must have come from the nearby fort.

22 mauls later only one essential remaining and I sent him running off into the woods as he ran my time ran out and shifted back the moon full in the background dead imperials everywhere.

I wish I could of taken a screenshot, in anycase my Bosmer was pretty full when leaving the camp

Carrots gave me a challenge, here are the rules:
1. Must attack falkreath
2. Go inside every building possible
3. Master difficulty
4. No survivors
5. Can't transform back
I also added my own rule that is just optional:
6. Must endure full feeding animations

To those who are going to take the challenge: good luck on your hunt

Also, I'm trying my own challenge that I made:
1. Must make 1 lap around skyrim without transforming back
2. Cannot make a lap any smaller than following the out most roads
3. Must travel past every city except morthal and whiterun (they're not on the outside of the map)
4. Can stop to feed whenever and where ever you like to keep your bloodlust up.
5. Difficulty should be at least adept

I have tried this once so far and failed. An elder dragon killed me halfway through my lap. If anyone tries this, start off by destroying a city to maximize your bloodlust and try to keep track of it. Also, save before doing this because you will wipe out a large number of people in order to keep your bloodlust.

It's fun isn't it ?! In my Orc form master difficulty is a joke :snoring: But while in werewolf form it's a whole other ball game, I find that I get a lot of :ahhh: moments. But I'm not complaining  I like a good challenge. As for werewolves being weak, yes compared to your human form it is but all it takes is a little strategy and forethought and your werewolf form is just as effective as your humanoid form, just wait until we get the perk tree, werewolves are gonna be an unstoppable force
I did up my difficulty after, I had to go back to master. I bumped into another dragon last night while on expert and still I made dragon skin shoes with in seconds  To all those who say that the game is easy, go turn yourself into a werewolf and go hunting on master :bunny:

Whats wolf pack ?

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_krIckddyXCI/TDuuiz2P5yI/AAAAAAAABOI/Lp281Y3otxE/s1600/wolf_pack.jpg is a group of wolves who hunt as a group, raise their cubs as a group, pass on knowledge as a group. All for the better good of the pack, you can have a single wolf on it's own but they tend to stay in groups, makes killing larger prey that much easier.
Which is the whole point of my thread to pass on knowledge, share stories ect...etc... a werewolf pack if you will.

Werewolf pack where you share your stories of great hunts and how you make our great father Hircine proud!

I'm really surprised that the vampires haven't started one yet, their not going to be as prepared as we're gonna be. We will feast on their undead asses.

What if I don't want to make Hircine Proud?

Do what you want to do, that's what I do. But I will answer Hircine's call when he needs me.

Practice makes perfect, keep at it  Try using some magic before you change, muffle carries over, all the armor spells carry over, all the cloak spells carry over and racial powers like the " berserker " power that Orc's have will carry over when you cast them before changing. Muffle is really useful, allows for getting the jump on people. I can walk up on someone as a werewolf ( as long as I stay out of line of sight ) and pounce on them from behind long before they even realize that I'm there :drag:

These challenges sound like fun! I wasn't around for the latter half of thread 2, so can you folks fill me in on all this? Thanks! :vaultboy:

" That was on adept difficulty, I'm used to playing on master so what I did last night was a cake walk  could have kept going but I had to sleep at some point
Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way harping on anyone who plays on adept  But to really understand where I'm coming from I challenge anyone to go to Falkreath, save your game, put it on master difficulty and give it a go. Hunting as a werewolf on master is a whole other ball game  let alone trying to take on a dragon. I think I'll up it to expert and see how that goes  "
I posted this and I guess some have excepted my challenge, see the other day I was messing around on Adept difficulty and managed to kill enough people for a 20 minutes of wolfing out ( real time ) which = 40 NPC's but I also bagged a dragon, so I posted my story and to make sure that I didn't offend any other wolves who play on adept I explained with the above post, an explanation of how I'm used to hunting on master and a little challenge to show what I meant.

I except.... the NPC thing is no issue for me, I've pretty much already eaten much of the map  Where did you start from? I think I'll start in Iverstead, it's the only town that I have yet to eat

My plan was to go from falkreath to riften and stay around riften eating all of the towns there. Then, take out winterhold and then dawnstar. Finally, take out dragonbridge, pass by markarth paying a visit if I need to, and finishing at falkreath.

My problem: dragons love to spawn in towns and that is my source of bloodlust. I made it to winterhold and then an elder dragon kept chasing me and got me.

As for eating in towns, I only eat guards when I'm going to save after my attack. It's harder, but guards respawn and I don't ruin any quests.

If you use spells and potions before transforming on master, I suggest you put it on adept because those won't help you much.

NICE, I was gonna go the other way, Iverstead-Rifton-Whindhelm-Winterhold etc...etc... and end back at Iverstead. Potions and spells will help at the start so you can kill and eat as many as you can to start off with, that's how I ate Falkreath. But I would wager that the " Berserker " power I have as an Orc helped the most, giving me a 50% boost to claw damage and damage resistance. I have decided to only eat guards, as you said they respawn, but I have already eaten a lot of towns folk. Not that big of a deal( to me ) I have 90 something quests done so I'm pretty sure I'm close to completing all quests for the game, and what ever I do miss out on really isn't important to Gorgun. Besides I have two other play throughs going so I'll make up the difference with one of them  It's just to damn fun RPing a werewolf  I'm really having a hard time controlling how many NPC's I eat now a days, I find myself :wallbash: the second I walk into a town and it's really hard not to give into the wolf

I know what you mean. You know how many times I've wiped out cities and had to reload an autosave? Too many to count. I have to watch though because I haven't done a lot of side quests and eventually I'm going to do them all with this character.

See I'm after putting in 1000+ hours ( that many that I lost count ) across 10-12 toon's so I don't think I've missed much  I really need to get out more, 1000+ hours  but I :tes: tooOOOoo much

I did on my first werewolf, but what turned me was the fact that Aela doesn't change with you. In fact, she doesn't change outside the Companions quest line so with Gorgun I married Janessa. Aela also would rat me out for killing people, where as Janessa is just fine killing them with you  She's the same build as Aela, a ranger build and she Levels out to like Lv.40 just like Aela I do believe.
