I usually hid the body somewhere or dumped it. Although after reading this I though more, I will leave a ring, a silver ring with a flower next to their body.
For targets like: Imperials taking a Stormcloak prisoner I ambush them with my bow and leave them along the road naked with only their sword left, then I of course give them Stormcloak food and armor to help him out.

Thalmor? I always kill them brutally and do my best to find a rock nearby and place all Elven helmets evenly on it.

haha yeah i role played a argonian serial killer who went round leaving sweetrolls on peoples chests...

damn mine does the same... but he is not a serial killer... only kills targets from the brotherhood and persons he dislikes.

also i lay my targets straight on their back, then i place the sweetroll on their stomach.

however... i also thought about removing the closes from my targets and place them right next to them... maybe even take everything they have and place it next to them. gold included.

I think it's a 30 day wait for stuff out in the wild, and a 10 day wait for stuff with in a city. But to be safe I just wait 30 days in a tavern or my home.

Awesome thanks. I find it funny that no one will think it's my character even though they watched him pick the nightshade.

Roleplay

Roleplay is less than Overly Serious Play?

Besides, who says that's not roleplaying?

Killing and not leaving anything is the usual occurence and roleplaying that seems improbable..

It's all in the execution. And not stripping the body to it's skivvies afterwards.

But I don't strip them. I leave them completely clothe the way they fell, all I do is stick a Nightshade in the pocket and take a blood stained coin as a trophy.

Closest I've come to doing this is with the Thalmor. When I wipe out their keep, I leave one of their assassination notes on a body near the front door. Then I go wipe out their embassy (second time) and do the same. If I think of it, I'll drop one of these notes at Elenwen's feet at the peace negotiations. Sort of a "just so you'll know for damned certain it's me" card.

I wish there were a dialog option at the peace treaty council to say to Elenwen, "Could you send more hit squads? I do love selling their armor. And give them more gold. I mean, seriously, do they work for the prestige of having me kill them?"

My Nord has a pile at Whiterun full of heads of Thalmor I've killed with the decap finisher, I held A on the control and walked them all the way to the Whiterun gates and made a pile near the wall.

Do you assassins have a calling card?

In every one of my victims I leave in their pockets Nightshade.

What is yours?

Mine's been very similar to yours since Daggerfall.

My Assassins leave all of their marks with a completely empty inventory except for a single sprig of Nightshade. My way of sending their Soul to Sithis.

Bandits and other enemies that you have to fight, I don't leave this. But straight up murders count for me leaving my mark.

By my estimation, since Daggerfall, I've left behind tens of thousands of sprigs of Nightshade.

Ah cool. I just take a coin, and put some nightshade in the pocket.

But I was considering take one of their bloody coins, leaving it on the corpse with nightshade.

There's a similar thread for this, but I always leave my victims naked to humiliate them, if their armor/clothes aren't valuable I'll toss them by their body.

If it's an assassination quest target or important NPC I'll leave whatever kind of offering I have from hunting animals, be it a pelt, antlers or tusk. I play a wood elf that doesn't harvest plants so it's more appropriate.

When killing a bandit leader for a bounty quest, I like to leave the bounty poster on their corpse.

I also like to take the body as a dead thrall. Some can make great decorations.

Bloody coin?

It requires some imagination, since they have been stabbed the coins in their pocket must be bloody.
