Theirs a new Open World RPG by Sega I don't remember the name off, but it looked pretty cool.

And lets be honest, there isn't going to be a game that this guy says looks better than Skyrim so why try?

Any of the games with equal graphics aren't open world, incredibly customizable, rpg's, or even fantasy. Or good.

Emphasis on the "Or good."

There aren't any. Skyrim is in a league of its own.

Are you serious? Skyrim isn't graphically impressive at all. Sure it looks nice, but it has nothing on:

Red Dead Redemption
Just Cause 2
Far Cry 2
Mafia 2
Assassins Creed 2, and Brotherhood
RAGE
etc

GTA IV? I lol'd

This is that funniest thing about people complaining about Skyrim's graphics being "sub-par" according to so many people. Any of the games with equal graphics aren't open world, incredibly customizable, rpg's, or even fantasy. Or good.

That's an incredibly ignorant statement.
I love all the fanboyism here. I love Bethesda, and they make great RPG games, but graphics in Beth games have never been amazing.

But that's with mods...once mods are made for Skyrim, it may look just as good if not better.

This thread baffles me. Do you guys really think skyrim looks that good?

A lot of people here are being really condesending towards other games.

Just cause 2/red dead redemption/assassins creed bh
All look way better than skyrim, especially just cause 2. Look at the screenshot I posted earlier in the thread. The engines in these games are all amazing, and these games are most definetley "good"

I know this is a Beth forum, and I love Beth games, but lets be realistic.

I have a question about that JC2 screenshot. Is that PC gameplay? Because to be fair, we haven't seen any Skyrim gameplay on PC.

Mass Effect is not open world in the same vein as Skyrim, or those other games you mentioned. Mass Effect has average graphics at best anyways.

You think that RDR isn't an open world game?

Saints Row 3, I don't care what the Medieval RPG crowd says, Skyrim looks okay, but Saints Row 3 and LA Noire are my games of 2011.

Red Dead Redemption looks terrible... or at least on my end, it does. Terrible ports to the PS3... Rockstar can go [censored] themselves and find their money in someone other than me. I don't really care about how the 360 version looks. If Bethesda manages to port Skyrim to the PS3 half-decently, Red Dead will look like garbage in comparison. Just Cause 2 is pretty comparable to Skyrim on a graphical level, but I can't say one beats the other.

Morrowind and Oblivion were praised in the media for being so graphically advanced for their time.

After looking at the some of the character screens, the outside enviroments in the background look so beautiful...

And of course "best" is debatable, so send a link if you think you have a contender.

Aesthetically, yeah Skyrim looks pretty good (subjective, of course, I personally love the rugged look). Tech-wise, it looks about average, though we have only seen the Xbox version, so naturally what we've seen is not going to be up to par with someone spoiled by PC graphics at their current finest.

The greatest multiplayer game ever...

or the first, I forget (old age ya know)

All I'm really saying is, if we get our hopes up to much, that this will be "the end all to be all" in RPG gaming.. then we're gonna be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvbQ4wJak_c, Otto will start thinking -which is never good, and the whole thing'll be a complete let down :(

Red Dead Redemption and Assassin's Creed, they are both beautiful games, Assassin's Creed has the best cities I've seen.

Assassin's Creed and Red Dead Redemption are both open world games.

Skyrim is not graphically impressive. It's in the average range in terms of open world games, but it makes up for that with hundreds of hours of quality gameplay.
