I can't kill Bighorners! : Fallout: New Vegas

I can't do it. I did it once and felt so guilty I've never done it since. I just walk around them or creep past now. I quite like them - they're quite refreshing to come across in the wasteland as something that doesn't outright attack, or............ talk [censored].

And I want my own Brahmin to carry my stuff around like the traders have - with the bell and everything. How come I can have a flying robot but I can't have a simple cow???

I have no qualms with hunting Bighorners, its easy experience early on. Its the calves I try to steer clear of. I won't kill anything with the word pup or calf in it.

I look at it this way, hungry, sight bighorner, kill bighorner, no more hunger.

If you want a brahmin as a pack mule then it will take up a companion slot, btw, should be fun seeing a brahmin follow you into the ambassadors office.

I have never shot at a big horner, or allowed one to be harmed. Though I did make a right mess of a Nightkin that was trying to kill some old man's cattle.

Didn't seem right, not good experience and I could buy my meat butchered.

I don't feel to sad about laying waste to the malnourished Bighorners (at a certain farm).

Although they seem to yield just as much food as the healthy ones do.

i only kill things that attack me first, so thats pretty much everything in the wasteland. so yea, i dont kill bighorners.

Between bighorner steaks and Cass's alcohol perk you can constantly keep yourself at +2 strength.

It's like two free intense training points or implants.

when i see the little baby bighorn for a brief second it's like awww...

and then I quickly realize unless I score some more bighorner meat, I will be walking slow everywhere from being overencumbered

It's the young geckos that can get to me, you shoot one but not kill it and you hear it cry and see it covering it's face with it's claws, and when I'm aiming at one and see it scratch it's head I pause on pulling the trigger.

Do you mean to say that you would buy a bighorner steak from a merchant, but not butcher one yourself?

Thats how it is with me in real life.
Can't kill animals myself, never, but I dont have problems buying meat in the store, cuz, theres nothing you can do about it, its already dead :angel:

I only kill Bighorners in hardcoe mode

I absolutely started tearing up after blowing up a family of Bighorners with a frag grenade......or two. But I thought of it this way...whatever meat was intact, I had a nice steak, so their slaughter didn't go in vain.

And besides, I'm sure I saved them from an even more gruesome death, right? If anything, I saved them the horrors of the wasteland. At least that's what helps me sleep at night...knowing that the death of those Bighorner families didn't go in vain. I saw the calves and I was like.... :nope:

At higher levels they don't even try to attack you unless you get too close to them. So there's really no need to. Either do small gecko's or coyote's .. As long as you keep a safe distance the weaker animals won't mess with you. I kind of like that. I mean it's more life like. In the real world you wouldn't run up to a buffalo out in the wild. And I don't do it in the game.. Unless it's in defense. But that would be my fault for getting too close.

I just see them as a food source, but I don't kill the none hostiles. I don't kill baby Geckos either. Unless they attack me first then they become dinner

once i figured out that they werent entirely hostile i let them alone unless i didnt have a choice..they wont attack you if you dont get too close unlike 99% of the rest of the creatures in the game..so i give them room if they give me room..
