it seems to be the trend to bash the old school Morrowind players and treat them as if they still wear bleached jeans and mullets from the 1980's unable and unwilling to move on, it is also highly annoying to find so many people acting like the "Whinge police" and it feels that if you dare say anything critical regarding skyrim you run the risk of mockery and decapitation.

As the posters above mentioned, A section of the forum which can only be filled with fawning happy comments and one sided sycophancy will be dead extremely quick.

Agree to disagree without the mocking tone and the need to post up a complaining thread about complainers, We're all Bethesda fans but some of us are very disappointed but those people's views need to be respected.

On a positive note, I came across a male & female pair of hunters all stripped off & enjoying the hot springs, Moments like these make me forget the negatives.

Plenty of positive threads are made. They usually die quite quickly. Possibly, if people would like the forum to be more positive, they should post on these threads more. However, its a bit hard to have an actual discussion on a purely positive thread. -"I like this." -'I agree.' Discussion over. On threads that offer a different perspective, where people with differing opinions meet, you get a discussion so those threads dont die as easily. Edit: I am however getting increasingly annoyed at the number of people who post nothing but inflammatory and nonsensical things about 'Morrowind bible thumpers, Morrowind zealots, Morrowind missionaries' and all that jazz. Possibly so many people hark back to Morrowind as an example of how the series could be more engaging because they think it is the best game of the series? Possibly you dont see so many people do the same with Oblivion as the general consensus on that game is that the level scaling ruined many aspects of it? Honestly, this malarky must stop, it is becoming aggrevating to read nothing but hate-filled remarks against people who enjoy Morrowind. Its as if people are jealous or spiteful or something. It is after all a very deep and engaging game. But so is Daggerfall.

For the past few weeks I've been on this general discussion forum but it's more and more like a we hate skyrim discussion. I would like to come on and have some nice happy things to laugh and chat about but all the threads seem to be about the negative side of the game. And I think I will like many others eventual just stop coming on the forum if it's nothing but just people moaning all the time. There is already a software sub forum but the general discussion forum seems to be where all the software problems get aired. So give the fans a happy fan sub forum so that the fans can enjoy the skyrim forum as well.

One if my favourite little glitches or whatever you want to call it is the archer elf in riverwood . He got killed one time when a dragon attacked the town and now he is just lying dead outside someones house on the main road going through the town. I keep wondering if I should drag him over to the river and let him float down the river in some sort of dignified funeral ceremony rather than lying at the side of the road like an empty crisp packet with everyone just walking by not bothering about him.

OP, I like the way you think. I keep trying to be patient until the people who don't like the game realize they have better things to do with their lives than be Debbie Downers and go do whatever it is. I'm off playing the game and will check in every so often but it's not a great place to be right now and I guess we just have to deal. My new character is a real challenge and I really like how much everything changes...we're all experiencing something different. Thanks for the great thought.

I noticed one of todds micro details the other day. I was looking at a selection of things on a table in a house and a lit candle was one of them and next to the candle was one of the glass potion bottles and I noticed that the candle and flame were reflecting off the bottle. It's just those little things that make you go oh look at that I never noticed that before every so often in the game.

OKAY ignoring the posts within this thread...

the topic itself I FULLY SUPPORT the idea of having a positive discussion forum / a negative discussion forum / and a no holds barred mixed forum for sharing ideas...
that way...

In the positive forum
1.)people that have little or no problems can chat, discuss, share stories without worrying about someone telling them they are wrong because dragons fly backwards or their fun will end when their game save gets corrupted and they have to start far back or completely fresh (i did that and it annoyed me to no end but I'd still like to avoid the bad once and a while)

In the negative forum
2.)people who are annoyed at the game, can point out what should and shouldn't be, discuss the why's and possible how's... without having someone telling them they are just focusing on the bad things! pure constructive or destructive complaints to make some feel better and for others to voice some opinions or make known some widely talked about (must be fixed) kind of bugs.

because there are those that enjoy the game and have no qualms... but find it upsetting when trying to share their opinion or something they like in the game and discussing that, then someone comes along that thinks differently and totally discredits every word they say? these things shouldn't happen in the forums and that is not the way it is intended...

and a MIXED forum
for those with thick skin and are willing to put up with abit of heat, and sometimes this can lead to some interesting and helpful results for the developers to take note of!

But by no means should it tturn into the slag match, it ALWAYS does in my experience on dozens of game forums....there are many games forums that use this idea to great success... so don't say... ITS YOUR OPINION

It is a proven effective method that keeps more people happy in the community as a whole... instead of chucking all your fish in the same tank and watching them fight over it

I had some issues with the game, on my first char I can't complete the mq, in my second there's 3 broken quests, and the 3rd is going fine atm
but still the game privided me 300+ total hours of fun, and there's a lot of fun quests, characters and stuff that can happen, so I can't be totally mad at it.

not asking for a thread... asking for 3 or 2 seperate discussion forums ... pos... neg and mix

reason? post a positive thread about NPC sayings, or random events... and it often, almost always ends up being a.... positive vs negative debate...

i posted one about favourite and most hated npc's in skyrim, why? discuss...

by page 2 of the thread it was an argument between people (not including myself at the time) saying that dialogue is so scripted and is a load of rubbish and that they should get voice actors... then it went on to discuss pricing and how it is or isnt possible and the bethesda are a let down and all that.... I came back and read the thing... thinking WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!? READ THE THREAD

so 3 seperate discussion forums could help segregate those that wish to purely share their good times... or purely share the complaints.... then a mixed one for those that wish to not only see but DISCUSS and ARGUE with the opposing side... and sometimes finding a useful middle ground that mods and developers alike could use the information of without having a heaving community of people that avoid forums because of argumentative folk like myself if there was 3...
