So you're 16, you'll be making £25 a week, and she wants to charge you £20 to live in your house?

Legal, yes. Nice, not so much I think.

Yeah it's legal. However it's abit low. Shouldn't she still be getting child benefits?

No, you should absolutey pay "Digs". Now that you're earning its more than right for you to contribute to the costs of feeding, clothing and sheltering you.

£20 a week is nothing!

But he only gets £25. Are you going to college or is this full time?

£25 a day to pay £20 a week. How many days a week is he working?

I've been there and done that, and had to pay a lot more.

Also OP its not "Your" house.

I shall learn to read next time.

@OP I am certain if you're still education (holidays still count) that parents should get some form of benefit.

The only benefit she gets is from my Dad who gives her £110 a moth.

Art major, eh? :P

If you'll be getting 25... Curse my keyboard for not having the Euro symbol... A day, and assuming you're working several days a week, I don't really see an issue with it. I still don't think it's very nice for parents to demand payment from their kids, but it's not as big of an issue as only getting &25 a week and her charging you %20 a week.

Again: Curse you keyboard. Curse you. <_<

Pounds. We have Pounds in England.

My parents don't expect me to start paying until I finish college. Which is nice of them. ^_^

Mine plan to start charging me as soon as I get a proper job, which is why I'm going to stay unemployed as long as possible. >_>

Sadly as others have stated it's not "illegal" to do this, but it isn't very nice. I would be quite curious if I was you about where that extra 20 Euro a week is going. Would want to make sure it's not being spent on something I wouldn't want. Now if she starts becoming irate about things you can say that if you are indeed renting from her you demand that things be "Fixed" for your room if there are problems. If she wants to play renter rentee games then you can as a renter make sure that everything is up to appropriate standards.

Good idea. And remember, as a woman, you can charge abnormally high prices for pole dancing and what not. Seriously, all these Russian/Romanian/Bulgarian pole dancers and strippers we get here all go to university and they just come to Malta to make some cash. [censored]'s weird.

Psst Miss Hee doesn't even need to do that. In our day and age she can set herself up a webcam, sit fully clothed and make £££££ an hour. ;) Its the wise move.

Or....

I could contribute to society by getting a well-respected job and become an accomplished, professional woman?

No? Okay :(
