Can a Vampire Join the Dawnguard?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 4:33 am

So, I was curious... Can I make a Vampire character and still join the Dawnguard to hunt my own kind? A self-loathing, vampire-hunting bloodsvcker in the vein of Blade?

Maybe if you don't like being a vampire you could just... you know, cure it.

No idea, but I doubt a Vampire Hunter would enlist a Vampire on face value. Probably would rather strike you dead and leave your ashes scattered outside the keep.

Yeah I also think they will start to attack you on sight.

Um, my guess no. But the DawnGuard faction may offer to cure you so you can join. Know one know's at the moment so we can only speculate.

Lower stages makes you barely look different.

But these are elite, badass vampire hunters. They would be able to tell, don't you think?

Wouldn't that kind of be like a nun joining a prostitution ring? O.o

Probably will notice your a vampire and give you a tip on how to get rid of it. And a 3rd party will help you

Or, you know.. like BLADE?! Does no one read comics or watch "old" vampire flicks? And I've always tried to roleplay that curing oneself of a magical disease is much more difficult than the game allows. Curing my original character of lycanthropy before entering Sovngarde was a trying decision for him, after all. /nod

Actually many stormcloaks are former legionaries.

I'm pretty sure OP wants to RP around that bit of simplicity :)

LORE POST:

"(...)There are several of us, you see, former vampires who know what to look for. We're patient too: we learned it in our unlife. We watch and listen, and anonymously contact the vampires we know wish to end the curse. Ending the curse is possible, but only just. It is very dangerous, but when you are cursed, the only real danger is no escape."
Vampires of the Iliac Bay

So I guess, that a willing vampire would have a 2nd chance.

a nord warrior can join the mages guild and a mage or thief can join the companions.

so of course you can, as long as you keep your stage low.

That actually happened at least once during the italian rennaisance (also an assassin's creed character probably based on her) t's funny that you mentioned that right after I finished researching that.

It's a question of 1. How vampire psychology works in Skyrim. If they're Joss Whedon style vampires, then they would have no desire to join the dawnguard and help save the world because they have no souls and are basically sociopaths (Angel is an exception haha). 2. How would the Dawnguard react? It's their choice really, and I don't think they'd appreciate having a vampire on their side
