I cant believe how beautiful the graphics are in this game..

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:59 am

underfunded? yeah, that's not exactly pretty.

I like the way skyrim looks-my 6850 can max just about everything, and it still looks awesome. I can't wait to see what a new console generation is gonna bring

From what the top game developer are saying... we pretty much hit the wall of graphical quality. Next generation will increase graphics a bit, but concentrate more on steady 60 FPS gameplay.

Once we hit that, the only place for games to go is up

We've already hit that, just not in the home console market. When I will be really interested is when raytraced images http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ec/Glasses_800_edit.png
Can be done in real time.

That's a nice video, make's whiterun look more like riverwood. Not 100% sold on that idea, though it is pretty. I only watched about 1/2 though.

I think the graphic's are great, vanilla. Yes they are improved with mod's, they are also changed a great deal with some mod's.

Meh, it was more about the lighting than the trees.

I hope they don't get much better actually, just enough to be passable with other current games.

If it gets too real (like the enhanced Crysis) then its gonna feel REALLY [censored] up when I get bored and go around killing people...

Battlefield 3? Crysis 2? The Witcher 2? The design is great is great in Skyrim, but it isn't that impressive on a technical level.
True, but do keep in mind the scale of Skyrim. Pretty damn impressive BECAUSE of the size alone.

probably won't be much different, so long as you don't have entrails all over the place or some other such nonsense

Yes the graphics are amazing. And the game isn't even using DirectX 10.

Just looking at things like NPC shadows is amazing. Lot's of little details too.

What's this? A positive thread for once? ...

That is also amazing.

We lost spellmaking, according to Todd Howard, for graphics. I'm glad people enjoy them.

Given the fact that fireballs fall from the sky and explode and Dragons breath fire... I don't see how that's possible. I remember in Oblivion setting the radius of an explosion to full lagged the game, but it isn't like the game couldn't handle it as is.

If you want a pretty Skyrim for screenshots, this one is pretty darn awesome.

That. Is. Awesome.

Those character head shots looks fantastic. How is it to play with though? Doesn't the drastic change in depth screw with your head when things are hectic and you're whipping the camera around?

The reason why PC gaming is still alive and kicking. I'd buy a Graphics card over a console anyday.

There's different settings, so you can disable the depth of field if you actually want to play with that mod enabled. I only use it for screenshots as my old 5770 can't cope with 8xAA, 16xAF, 1080p, Ultra settings and then this mod :D

Wish us on console could say the same thing...

The graphic is decent for the console standards,at least for the 360 version that i've played so far. I can't speak for the ps3 either.

On the pc of course you can have a far better experience if your hardware meet at least the recommended configuration and the addition of the Hi-res textures pack and/or various graphics mods.

Skyrim is the most beautiful game I have on the 360.
Not only the quality of the graphics themselves (I love the water) but for a very large part also because of the art style.
There are many places in Skyrim where you can stand on a high spot and gaze over the landscape and just be amazed at how pretty everything is.
I especially love the auroras in the night sky.
Sometimes I like to find a spot with a good vista and just stand there a while, under the moons and aurora, looking at the landscape.

I dont think I have ever played a game before where I could spend such a long time just admiring the view.
