I cant believe how beautiful the graphics are in this game..

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:12 pm

So I have a Nvidia 550 Ti 1GB

Cranked the graphics all the way up keeping the shadows at high went into my nvidia control panel and increased the graphics up even more.. just looking at the game is like art work, makes you wonder how much better graphics can get.

Battlefield 3? Crysis 2? The Witcher 2? The design is great is great in Skyrim, but it isn't that impressive on a technical level.

Take your console and tie it to a train track.

I'm on console and I was blown away the first time I turned it on, now I'm 790+hr. in and I still stop from time to time to enjoy the view.

I'll be doing that sometime this summer when I have enough money saved for a good gaming PC.

I've bought the game for the 360 and the PC and I'm enjoying the PC version the most. I don't really seem to notice a big difference in graphics but the framerate is way better.

Only reason I said what I did is because 1.4 completely screwed over the high resolution textures in the game, and also the draw distance of the environment/dragons.

IE. My game looks like Oblivion, WHICH IT SHOULDN'T

But ya know, Bethesdas FAR too busy to impress us console players. THE MAJORITY of their sales!

Yea..

It's great isn't it? I still prefer the Battlefield 3 graphics, and have yet to try The Witcher 2, but Skyrim has beautiful graphics that breathe a certain atmosphere.

I like the art direction more than the pixel count of Skyrim. I remember when some people were wondering why Skyrim had just about 6GB and Beth said that it all had to do with some new techniques of compression. That's bull. I checked the BSA folder and there are lots of 512x512 textures in there, and many are recycled all over the world. Thank God the artistic vision is beautiful.

Standing on a mountain top at sundown with the celestial lights in the sky, watching a dragon flying off in the distance...

Yeah, Skyrim is amazing.

BUT I understand it looks way better on a PC. I play on a maybe 20 in little itty bitty TV with my PS3 and I can see where people say "OMFG THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE." but I come from having a PS2 up until last July and my PC is crap. I think its pretty f'n amazing that they really tried to polish ALL of the details to the enviorment and scenery.

The graphics are decent. Nothing really to complain about. But TES games have never been about the graphics really.

Just imagine how good the game would have looked as a PC exclusive, without the limitations of a nearly decade old console.

Nope.... I mean it svcks but I would rather be able to play games like Skyrim and AC instead of silly PS2 games and shuffling through to see what games will run on my PC (Civ 4, Zeus, Diablo, etc.) Really, I know I'm missing out on HD and a faster gaming expierience but it really is a HUGE step up from a ps2.

On my 360 the scenery can look great on a 32" TV.
I am sure it can look much better on a gaming PC, which my laptop is not.

All in all I am very pleased with Skyrim, it is the longest I have played anything on the 360.
Normally I am more into strategy PC games. I stopped playing Oblivion years ago when my study became a nursery. The main challenge with Skyrim is getting the time to play it. Which I continue to do because it is a fun game that intrigues.

underfunded? yeah, that's not exactly pretty.

I like the way skyrim looks-my 6850 can max just about everything, and it still looks awesome. I can't wait to see what a new console generation is gonna bring
