I absolutely love how up in arms people are getting over what "realistic" Nirn-ian accents should sound like.
There's some ridiculous cultural expectation that everyone alive during a vaguely medieval period spoke with a British accent. This is not only silly, but completely false. The current prevailing theory is that medieval/renaissance English sounded closer to American Southern than to British as we know it today.
To me it's not that the accents should be British, (plenty of Nords have northern European accents, after all), it's that of all the voice acting, northern American is the most jarring for me as a non-American. I associate American accents with CNN, sit-coms and lecture series by Bill Gates. ie, more recent world culture.

I don't think it's wrong that we psychologically associate 'fantasy' in this context with the accents of older cultures of Earth. Add that the children have a 'modern' inflection with some snarky, cynical or worldly aspect to the delivery that just doesn't fit in Tamriel, in my opinion.
That said, I guess I've gotten into the habit of ignoring the children. They are kinda like chickens.
