Children's voice acting is incredibly irritating. I find the male child's voice to be the most grating in the game.

No, the kids voices don't get on my nerves..But then again, they're children after all..

However, I find all the North American accents unbearable in a period RPG...If all the accents were consistent then it would do wonders for the immersion..And yes, I do play The Witcher 1-2 with Polish/Deutsch/Russian voices..

The children are some of the better voice actors and in fact have they done a great job with them. They should have added more.

Their voices aren't bad, but the actual dialogue tends to be really aggravating in most cases. That's actually one of the reasons I like Babette. That, and that she's a little 300-year-old badass.

Children in Whiterun are special children :o)
Has no issues with children other places, the ones in Solitude is cool, even get an quest to play tag with them.

The ones in the orphanage in Riften is also ok, one idea might be that the parents in Whiterun get to pick replacement kids from the orphanage, then we move the orphanage to blackmash.

The voice acting is bad, but the lines they say are even worse.

The voice actors sound suitably boyish and girlish and although that's a little annoying I wouldn't have it any other way. What really bothers me though is their American accents. We haven't wandered into Kansas, thank you very much Beth.

They do not annoy me as such, it just doesn't make sense how there parents sound so different to them, I am of course assuming they are Nords.

The problem with the voice acting with children is the same problem with the advlts they are extremely repetitive.

i have no issue with there voice save for the lack of appropriate accents i however do have an issue with what they say which of course is maddeningly irritating its as if knowing we could do nothing to them not even tell them to shut up bethesda purposefully made them as gratingly annoying as possible.

Yeah, I'm with you guys. I don't understand why they went with American accents. Everybody knows people in Skyrim don't talk like that in real life! Totally kills the immersion.

I have no problem with their voices. Themselves however, eugh.

There are some seriously objectionable children in skyrim.
Braith is the worst.

Some are nice. The solitude ones are nice. And some others.
Babettes cool. :)

So do I. There should be children of all races in skyrim.

I don't like the kids in general due to the bad dialogue they are given but also some of the voices were poorly chosen. In particular they used at least one voice actor that I recognized from Fallout 3 and I didn't really care for him in that game either. It would also help if some of the kids were a bit more respectful instead of being obnoxious. Maybe then I could tolerate them a bit more.

They're okay in Solitude, since one of them keeps coming up to you saying 'you're the best' or 'can you be my father'.

They should definitely sound more European, since the game takes place in Europe.

A really obvious European accent isn't ideal either, but at least it can pass as medieval... which is what a lot of fantasy is based around.

Ideally though, accents in a fantasy game should sound either neutral, so you don't immediately think "this NPC sounds [insert nationality]", or completely unique, like no Earth culture.
