Clothing/Armor

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:01 pm

I would really like a variety of day-to-day clothes (a variety of suits, hats, glasses, jumpers, jeans maybe)

I'd also like the clothes/armour to be customizable somewhat: I imagine if you had to live and work out and about in the dangerous Mojave Wasteland you would collect what precious clothing and armour you could and attach it to your clothes if able.

Also why are there only up to 2-3 apparel slots. In oblivion (which uses the same engine) you had slots for head, torso, legs, feet, gloves,(shield and jewelry slots also but that wouldn't translate well to fallout lore wise)

And Morrowind, Oblivion's predecessor had even more slots... (and you could wear clothing under your armor). The more slots, the better. :P

Yeah, more clothing would be awesome, with certain Items of clothing giving boosts to different attributes like charisma, sneakyness, or just blending in. That would be especially useful since you can supposedly play this entire game without firing a weapon. Although I don't see how that's possible but I'm pretty sure I recall that from one of the interviews.

A Bandito outfit (although Raul will have one).
A poncho, for surviving the cold desert nights.
A few more feminine style clothes from that era.
Police officer's uniform.
Rick Moranis. (Just ... just, like have Rick Moranis around).
A back pack would be amazing though. Just let it have it's own slot, and variations of it. Or just have one type of outfit with a back pack.

I'd like to have a dirty pre-war businesswear model suit, but the coloring would be deep blue with white/grey pinstripes.

This.

And more desert wear would be great.

Liked to see a form of the stormchaser hat comeback.

definitely a eyepatch...and this time one that doesn′t cover your aiming eye, or at least one as easy to mod into the game as the one in Fallout 3

I want more protective armor (e.g and desert wear (a desert cloak, or maybe a turban (to those wants to be an arabian lost in New Vegas :) )
If only http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balaclava_(clothing) is here, this will look great for those who want to be anonymous......
Oh! And add some camouflaged jacket/uniform (maybe of NCR origin/other sources)....

I'd like to wear a balaclava, as nobody will recognize me... any further action taken will not affect my reputation with the factions. :ninja:

Then again... there are tons of head items covering the entire face already...

Uh, maybe they changed it (Tactics made the change to looser fitting cloth suits first) because spandex is the most illogical choice in the world for an all-purpose utility suit that will need to be passed down for generations and possibly repaired several times? I thought all the painted pictures of characters in the original vault suits looked a little too comic-booky or alternately, like they belonged a heavy metal album cover. It was just weird.

With no linkable source and scarce recollection, consider this hypothetical for the moment... I always assumed that the vault suits were auto-weaved and/or extruded on demand by the vault systems. Would not some device be installed to supply vault suits on demand; (and possibly just incinerate them rather than use water to clean them)?

(I mean, these things could have actually been made from a combination of gels and plastics, and fabricated on the spot with a custom fit by a big' ol clunky vault suit making machine).

I wish there were armor mods for extra DT, resistances to fire, explosive and energy weapons, and for some high tech helmets you can put in Nightvision, thermal, or extra zoom .-. (Would show changes like mods on weapons)

I'm not sure if one outfit will suffice, after seeing more of http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_armor_and_clothing. I think it would be cool to combine the kerchief/helmet/goggles thing some of the Legion guys wear with some of the outfits, like the leather armor or the tan armor some of the NCR guys wear. Not the desert armor with the overcoat, but http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pith_helmet.

Well, from the "Primm Walkthrough" video, I saw that there was something called a "NCR face mask" in the person's inventory, so it's possible that they will have more accessory-like items in addition to full outfits. What I hope is that something like a facemask doesn't effect reputation, because unless they have some sort of insignia on it people wouldn't know whether it was representing something or not.
