Clothing/Armor

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:17 pm

This is just for fun. As we all know the GREATEST game on the planet is going to be released in under a month so I'd like to hear some clothing & armor Ideas you'd like to possibly see in future Fallout games and maybe in DLC's.

Again.. this is JUST FOR FUN.

1. Ghillie Suits.. for the ultimate sniper

2. Submersible Armor suit with breathing apparatus and hydro propellant. Not super fast and not very powerful but lets you submerge 100ft or so under water and move effectively.

3. Mercury Suit... Can withstand extreme heat conditions. Great for exploring volcanic caverns!

4. Swim wear! Why? because it's fun!

I'd like them to model the clothes from the old fallout game.
Including the.. Spandex? Vault suit that really shows your figure and lines up in perfection with one's ass-crack. (I really want it, they should never have changed it from spandex(???) to cloth.)

I don't know about the rest of those, but a desert camo ghillie would be nice for Boone and me.

Eyewear:

3d gimic glasses -would be a nice tongue and cheek laugh to the casual gamers who want 3d in all their games

eye patch

these goggles http://corvusart.com/blog/2008/10/24/steampunk-goggles-titanium-photochromatic-variable-aperature-spectacles/

Some nice looking scrap glasses made from bits of wire and small bits of metal.

Big Nerdy glasses with tape in the middle.

Or those novelty mustachioed nose glasses.

Those swirly drawn cardboard cut out get from the back of a comic, x-ray specs

Heh, not really.
The first character will be a female but the next 4 I have lined up are all going to be male.
Don't care whether a man or woman is wearing that suit. ;)

But I'd hate to wear spandex my whole life, poor vault citizens, though it must stretch out over the years of wearing them.

I'd like some armor that's a combo of power armor and ordinary armor... like some kind of lighter power armor. I could be cool.

Uh, maybe they changed it (Tactics made the change to looser fitting cloth suits first) because spandex is the most illogical choice in the world for an all-purpose utility suit that will need to be passed down for generations and possibly repaired several times? I thought all the painted pictures of characters in the original vault suits looked a little too comic-booky or alternately, like they belonged a heavy metal album cover. It was just weird.

Anyway, I'd love to see:

-1940s style http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_duemKGY9M6E/SgmYPcHdfGI/AAAAAAAAAqQ/T1O9gQMEv9M/s400/Gas+Mask.jpg
- 1950s style cheerleader outfit and 1950s style football uniform
- advlt versions of 1950s girl scout and boy scout outfits
- Trenchcoat and fedora
- Yellow plastic http://upload.ecvv.com/upload/Product/200801/200631532521975470_Rain_Coat__Rainwear__Poncho__Burberry__Rainjacket__Waterproof_Suit__Insulated_Snowmobile_Suit.jpg, complete with hood
-1940s bomber jacket with fur trim
-a 1950s style leather jacket with no logo or embroidery on the back (for when we want to look greaser cool without showing support to a particular group)
-an oversized cardigan sweater for when we want to rock out as nerds or dodder around as old men
-a 1940s http://www.spaciousplanet.com/images/world/thumbnails/nurse-uniform57412655004228682.jpeg, complete with hat - ideal for Medicine skill focused players, or those just wanting to be ironic when they go around killing people
-newsboy cap

Vault-Boy Mascot suit found in a Vault-Tec building, or at a school that was hit during a Vault-Tec seminar.

Ghille suit.

Fedora.

Wasn't that the point?
Along with that Super Mutants were meant to look a bit goofy?
And ghouls looking like rotting zombies with organs and bones sticking out of their body? (Not burn victims)

I thought it was fitting. :)

I want customizable armor, like you would start with a basic type (Combat Armor, Power Armor ect.) and just customize it in any way you want from there, with decals, colors, shape, amount of rust, or you could start from scratch and combine diffirent types of armor. And you would unlock new parts and decals as you progress through the game, with certain decals and parts raising certain skills or S.P.E.C.I.A.L. by a set amount. Ive always thought that would be a good idea.

The lack of apparel customization was one of the things I didn't like with Fallout 3.
I like to make my characters unique, and look just the way I want them... mixing armors would let me go even further.

Also why are there only up to 2-3 apparel slots. In oblivion (which uses the same engine) you had slots for head, torso, legs, feet, gloves,(shield and jewelry slots also but that wouldn't translate well to fallout lore wise)

I think they did the whole 2-3 slot thing in the first 2 fallouts. I'd rather you be able to mix and match gear instead of just walking around in a whole outfit and of course leads to more unique looking npcs due to more apparel combinations.

Yeah I like that Idea, and since you mentioned it.. I had wondered why a suit of power armor didn't have a built in HUD. With built in binoculars, night vision, targeting reticle, ect.

Maybe they can add customizable armor like that in one of the DLC's.. hint, hint :P
