Company of Heroes

Heh, I was pleasantly suprised that I had the most kills (70) that last game. I didn't do anything. :P
I just deployed snipers behind the frontline, so that must be where the kills came from.

One of the reasons I dislike annihilate in games when not playing vs the AI is that it means they can drag on. With the amount of map control we had it would have been a slow defeat (which I dislike). I probably should have stuck it out. I will next time.

I also messed up a bit and built the wrong unit a couple of times (2 grens 1 mortar not 3 mortars :P)

You're right, in the end I blew up my barracks and refused to send in reinforcements just so the allied could concentrate on destroying your base and end the match. There was no point in holding them off any longer.

Well that's no fun. :P

We should probably play those point control games with human vs human, where you cause the enemy to loose points by holding special areas, and when they reach zero the game is over. It lends itself to a completely different game style where the goal isn't to defeat the enemy, just to keep him from taking your land.

I think I read on the CoH forums something about "baseraqe" and how lots of people look down on it. I guess it's just destroying the enemy base when there's no need to, giving him no chance to compete.

Also: I need to do something other than Company of Heroes. I dreamed about nothing but CoH ALL NIGHT LONG.

Just finished an awesome round of Victory Point control. Me and Saurok were Axis vs Steampunk and El Di4blo, who were ofcourse Allied.
It was a very good round. I did notice that 1000 points is a bit too long, we had to finish them off completly so that it wouldn't drag on.

Gotta keep your infantry in cover, and make sure they are facing the enemy. And when assaulting, make sure you've got nades. (I love the napalm nades the PE have)
And also, try to have as few squads per quickslot as possible.

Just watched the replay. 1 min into the game you had the VP closest to me, along with 3 squads.
My 2 engineers didn't stand a chance. :P

I'll have to try PE some more, I've hated them before, but maybe they're better than I thought.

They are awesome. I always concentrate on their infantry, who are insanely powerfull, and I use tanks as support.
With one upgrade (don't know the name) they level up faster, and if they have a G43, they really own.
Just get all the upgrades for the infantry, and if you have a lot of munition you can just buy normal infantry, and upgrade them with the weapon of your choice (and you save on manpower). With the saved up manpower you can call in 2 panther tanks, or whatever you've got in reserves.

We failed because we lost map control and did not regain it. The PE grenadier spam at the beginning halted my ally at the very beginning and the constant stream kept it that way. What we should have done was fast track to armor and push through, but I was expecting more counter armor from the PE instead of the mass of infantry.

By the time I was seeing fully vetted PE infantry squads en masse I knew it was over. I called the game after they sent in two Panthers.

If I could have capped the VP before the other points, then reinforced it with a sniper and an MG, then wait for the other points to be capped and then build one or two MG nests I might have been able to hold it.

Foolishly enough I capped 2 muntions points on the way to the VP.

I am up for a game soon.

EDIT:
I would like to say, getting beaten but managing to score higher is annoying. I don't think I advance when I should or something

Some good games with Lord Elendiir though.

Just had a few decent games with Yacoby. Including quite a difficult attempt at Stonewall, but we managed it. The last wave wasn't as bad as wave 14/15 I think, even though it should have been.

Yeah, it was a strange thing. You had more kills than I did, and I think that's because of how I used my infantry. You didn't annihilate many squads, but the attrition and reinforcement of them throughout the game probably just fed your score.

You took down several T17's too, so that probably also added to the score. It was an even match most of the game though, with you and me trading the center and north star point lots of times, but in the end I think you were ruined by a few too many unfortunate artillery strikes during your more annoying resistances. :P

Also: Sticky bombs are frustrating. You had a StuH or something trying to kill my howitzer, and it took like 6 stickies to finish it off from a sliver of health. One just exploded and did no damage at all besides "engine damaged". <_<
