Compensation for PS3 Users

Do you think PS3 users should get compensation for being sold a broken game. I think that we should get discounted DLC or something along those lines.

Sure, maybe make the first DLC 50% off for PS3 users.

No. If anything, every non PS3 player on these forums should get compensation for having to bear the pain of listening to all the PS3 users.

I'm a ps3 user and no I don't. I just want it to work next week when the patch comes out. That's it. Nothing is free and it shouldn't be. Thread should be closed for two reasons. One I'm tired of being reminded by the hundreds of threads that skyrim doesn't work well on the ps3 right now( I have faith it will, I believe Bethesda is trying hard). Two there is nothing left to talk about on this subject. They will fix it we will play it then we move on to the next Bethesda game and that's a fact. Sorry so blunt but really this free stuff topic is old and annoying.

See I agree with this. I'm a ps3 user and I'm sick of hearing it. I just want them to fix it so the forums will be easier to browse instead of seeing all the junk at the top of the page.

Maybe sell the DLC for ps3 at the same time as the 360, instead of making us wait a month?

Its already contracted that XBox gets the first month to themselves. They cant legally release the DLCs (Honeslty we should all know all the DLCs will be XBox only at first) for PS3 till after the one month period.

Bethesda should have just stopped supporting the ps3 awhile ago. They had to of known that the thing couldn't handle the game. Ofcourse at the same time every ps3 owner out there should have known that their movie player couldn't play the game anyway. Have people not been paying attention? Should have known better.

It was easy to blame Bethesda after oblivion, but now after FO, NV and Skyrim I'm starting to think it's the ps3. Just look at the best games on the Ps3 god of war, uncharted those are all eight hour games that are as linear as humanly possible it is like Ps3 simply can't handle large open worlds. If that is the case than oh well so sorry bout your luck, but I'm glad they made they game they made instead of making a side scroller just so the ps3 could run it.

I don't think compensation is called for. I think ps3 owners should be happy that Bethesda did the best they could with what they had to work with.

I've allways been a supporter of ditching the PS3 in favor of more Dev time on the X-box and PC. Doing all of them hurts all of them and the PS3version is barly functional as it is. I see no reason to waste more dev time on what everyone knows will be a broken copy.

After the second patch I haven't had any problems except for the occasional freeze. I'm satisfied with Skyrim for my PS3.

YES. I say this a an Xbox gamer who used to be a PC gamer as well. I've just never been in to playstation but I don't think it's fair that there are so many issues with the PS3 version.

Maybe BGS should just not release on PS3 anymore ...

It's not Bethesda's fault you bought a PS3.

No it isn't. It's BGS fault the PS3 version doesn't run as well as the other two versions.

I don't require any compensation because I enjoyed each Bethesda game up until the issues take effect. The only thing I would like is for the solution (if it really is in patch 1.4) to be adapted for New Vegas and Fallout 3. My first character on Fallout 3 (and of any Bethesda game) is still stuck on Point Lookout, where the game decides to crash or run like a powerpoint presentation, then crash.

Fixed. PC was a port as well and experienced various issues up until 1.3 with the LAA patch due to the memory leak.

No compensation is not going to be given out do they deserve it? maybe but they are not going to spend less that's out of the question and since they already have the contract for MS DLC will be late by 30 days because Beth most likely already took the money.

I said this in another thread... I don't think Bethesda owes PS3 owners anything per se... but I'm in sales management. When something for one of our customers isn't delivered to their expectations, I go out of my way to make it right. Sometimes that means doing something extra for the customer. The objective is to keep them happy so that they continue to be your customer.

So if I were in charge at Bethesda, PS3 users would get something to engender good will. Even if it was just a small DLC with some special armor & weapons, or even a download that would immediately add 10 levels & perks to help make up for the time they couldn't play, I'd find a way to give them something for their troubles. The fact is, Bethesda released a game that didn't meet the expectations of a large percentage of its customers; good customer-focused companies make that right.

I want two things: the game to be fixed, and in the fixing patch an in-game trophy added to a vendors inventory that reads "I survived Skyrim for PS3, 11.11.11 - date when it gets fixed.

You are incorrect in my eyes, dear sir..... The PS3 and the Xbox have practically the game hardware. The problem is that it's an Xbox port, not the PS3...

I would edit that post if you want to keep the thread open. Calling someone a name isn't legal on here...

The only problem is that the PS3 has a different archintecure while Xbox and PC both using Windows OS have a much similar (not same) and many developers cannot access PS3 full power (which will beat Xbox 360 hardware specifically the CPU) so more issues occur on it. Now whatever happend to Skyrim and PS3 is unkown other developers rarely had that much of a issue. But as I said that it does seem that 360 was the only tested platform out of the three which is why both PC and PS3 are inferior stable wise. (again LAA patch fixed the memory leak with 1.3)

Personal attacks? What is wrong?

Also you are wrong. Ps3 and Xbox both have 512mb of ram. Or half as much ram as most phones have now. Ps3 has its 512mb split into two parts. A game can only get at part of the ram on the ps3. The rest is more than likely dedicated to playing movies. Lol You call me an idiot and then prove you have no idea what you are talking about. Great job!

no both systems have 512mb both systems can only use about half of that for games due to OS they run. Both system have to separate RAM' VRAM and RAM PS3 if utilize has a stronger CPU and overall stronger platform altogether but majority developers cannot harness the power because of the very different architecture it runs on. Also the current version of OpenGL that the PS3 does use is better then the DX version that 360 is using.

When the majority of devolpers have issues when your system, maby you did somthing wrong.

PS3 took a chance yes, they didn't to make a copy of 360 by any means. But majority of the devleopers can at least optimize the PS3 enough to make it work and stable BGS did not. Majority can't access its full power that doesn't mean it won't work.
