A concern about Helios One

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:29 am

I doubt Obsidian would let this slip, but would Helios One be a one time weapon, Once a day/week weapon? I think it is a niffty weapon and everything and I would like to see just how it implements into the game, but if we can use it with a press of a button every time, that would just be a bit....godly wouldnt it?

Like I said, not a complaint, just a curious question.

I'm more wondering what the hell to use it on. There's got to be something big you can use it on, I'm not gonna be careless with it incase a companion runs into the middle of the beam.

Yes, I've read that somewhere as well. I was just hoping by now it would be confirmed how it can be fired. xD

it should be once a week not once a day. it prevents people from waiting 24 hours so they can shoot next time they encounter enemies

as said before me
the portable laser beacon you recieve after fixing helios one calls in an orbital strike using the power of the sun
but it takes time to collect that energy. after the weapon is fired it has a 24 hour recharge period

-you could probably use the wait function every time you use it, but that doesn't really work if you don't hit all your targets

I would hate to wait a week as well, but a day kinda seems to short for a super solar laser from space to recharge.

I think every 2 days would be better than 1. Wouldn't mind even a longer wait, though.

I think there was some talk of even more drawbacks for obtaining it than just the wait. That you only get it if you don't direct the power of the station elsewhere, and without power people got upset. Just IIRC.

three days sound sufficient, and the thing for obtaining it sounds great as well.

Thought that too, but I can't remember if it was optional to betray the NCR or did it actually have to be done.

its optional. you can repair it for them and let them use the power as they choose.

or redirect it to the satellite laser.

there will probably be an option to help ceasers legion with it
