Contents of my local Gamestop back room

So I went last night. Got there at 6:15, turned in my copy of Skyrim, got what little money I could back for this broken piece of garbage game.

Checked in with the manager, who's a friend of mine. They are getting this game back by the DROVES. 78 copies Xbox as of 6pm today, over 160 now of PS3.

There you have it. His isn't the only store in the area with this kind of backstock of used copies - his fellow managers at other stores are seeing the same thing.

Oh, but you didn't hear it here, because the forum "moderators" are a bunch of corrupt, rude coverup artists who undoubtedly will lock and delete threads to make it "go away."

Maybe if Bethesda had even a LITTLE respect for their customers, they wouldn't be in this mess. I won't be buying another Bethesda product again, ever. Their name on it = instant rejection.

I absolutely love the game, you absolutely hate it. Don't force your opinion on other people. Let it be.

That's somewhat normal, especially with the cash-back deal. Many are just beating the main quest and returning the game. They arn't hard-core fans.

I would probably love it. If it were not BROKEN and UNPLAYABLE.

No, they're returning it because it's unplayable with all the bugs. They've been asking - Gamestop policy is to ask if you were "satisfied" with a game if it's a quick-turnaround.

Bob does have a point, despite his harshness. Companies nowadays consider games a "service", not a "product" and expect you to tag along for several months and wait for patches. It's pathetic.

you cant expect a game like this to be perfect day one. Its huge, its complicated, and there are a lot of new features. there are bound to be some problems. just be patient.

You buy a Bethesda, open world game expecting it to be glitch free...?

Well, you sir. Are the idiot.

And it's not 'broken and unplayable' When I got New Vegas on release day. THAT was unplayable.

Your a troll, I bet you have clocked in over 400 hours into Skyrim, and your probably playing it inbetween your forum posts. And next time you flame someone or something, be sure to have some facts that solidify your statements.

Yeah...except for the fact that people have been looking all over for used copies and no Gamestops OR Bestbuys have had any. I even checked myself for someone for xmas. If your local Gamestop had that many while other stores are sitting on zero stock, they would have transferred them.

Don't try to tell a retail girl retail stories honey.

Kay thanks, bye bye.

The amount of brokeness is astonishing. They wanted the game shipped out on 11/11/11 because it's a shiny looking date. While most people only encounter a few errors, the amount of possible errors is horrendous. People have accepted that you don't need QA anymore, you can just send patches. The engine Beth has been using has been used for many, many years. There is no excuse that several issues can still remain. In the older days, you had to make sure the game was ready day one, because there were no patches. Once a game is broken, it's broke. This is a SINGLE player game, meaning you should be able to buy Skyrim, go off to a remote cottage and play it. Too many times, friends of mine have boughten these games and have been exposed to a broken game. Sure, mine works fine. Why? Because I have an internet connection. Lots of folks don't. You still hear on the news about townships making deals to get internet.

And you sir are a certified [censored].

If it were a few glitches, that's one thing. The first QUEST glitched out on me and wouldn't come back even after a restart. Had to remake a whole new character and try again... only to have more and more quests break.

UNPLAYABLE.

The message is interesting.

The delivery is obnoxious.

The messenger is infantile.

I've returned DVD's just because I'd watched them and wanted the money back to buy more. I told them the discs came scratched and I didn't want to take the chance on the same title.

Don't you judge me

Not really but I have had them take back stuff I just wasn't satisfied with for whatever reason. Didn't make it broken or unplayable maybe they had completed it and wanted cash to try something else, maybe the hype didn't match reality. It's easier to wave the guy at the counter off with "it's broken".

I stopped reading there. Obviously you weren't expected to be taken seriously. I mean, considering it's already started taking in Game of the Year awards and millions of players have been enjoying the crap out of it, there's absolutely no grounds for absurd nonsense like "this broken piece of garbage". You might just as well propose that a bar of solid gold is worthless.

Clearly it's not unplayable for everyone. And you have to insult me to try and have a constructive argument.

Okay, let's fight fire with fire. You sir, are an utter crying tw**t who needs to get off these forums and go back to a game that has no glitches. Oh wait, there aren't any.

So you're saying that a game that sold massively five weeks ago, is now showing up in volume at a retailer whose primary function is to help gamers exchange old games for new ones? Absent other data this sounds like business as usual. In fact, maybe those numbers of returns sound a little light given how many were sold?
