i don't mind waiting if it's going to help the final product. if they can make it a bit less glitchy then FO3 and add a few more quests or whatever that would be worth the wait. its gonna be out on time i think.

Its weird I guess I was one of the few who didn't have really any glitches with my copy of Fallout 3, I think it might have glitched or acted buggy maybe twice.

One resulted in a funny however, I was walking on top of Rivet City and all of a sudden I phased through the ship and had a bone shattering crash down on the rocks below. :fallout:

I'd just as soon that they take as long as they need to get out the game in a condition they're happy with. "It'll be ready when it's ready," and all that.

That said, I think at this point it'd have to be one heck of an awesome idea to justify going back in and adding all-new features, at this point. I could be wrong, but my understanding is that at this point in the process you want to be (ideally) working on polishing and what-not - not necessarily redesigning the wheel. (Of course, if game design is anything like any industries I'm more familiar with, then the last phase of development probably more resembles manically trying to get stuff fixed at the last minute, and hoping everything somehow magically comes together just in time... )

It's a fine line, but as some point I figure you just have to say "well, there's always the next game." (Assuming, of course, that it sells well enough to justify another...)

If they have something really awesome to add, they can do it with DLC, and bugs can be fixed with patches.

Not just no, but hell no the game should not be delayed to add 15,000 more minor variants of every firearm ever manufactured, every craptastic lame "feature" of every overrated game done in the last 15 years, 12 different kind of aliens, 6 breeds of "way kewl" Super Mutant Behemoths, and a handful of sports cars, motorcycles, jetpacks, submarines, mounts, and so on.

The 3 or 4 good ideas that have come through here can be added in the next game.

the release is fine as it is....... and for bugs and glitches they can have patches every so often

I'd be ok with a 6 month delay since I'm behind on games bought on sale, and I want to play one more time from scratch with Fallout 3 GOTY with mods to make it like what hardcoe mode in FNV will be like.

If Obsidian felt that delaying the game could make it better, then I'd be fine with a slightly later release date, I mean, of course I want to get it as quickly as possible, but I want even more for it to be a game that will be worth the wait. I wouldn't so much want them to delay it to add ideas fans have suggested, though, as fans can always keep coming up wth new ideas, yet Obsdian can't delay indwefinately to add everything everyone wants, besides, not all fan ideas are good, or would work with what they have already, and in any case, I'd say the game is beyond the point of adding new things and has gotten to the point the focus should be on polishing what they already have. So if they decided to delay it for that, I'd be fine with it, but I don't think they need to delay it just to add new things that would require further polishing. The things suggested here, if they have potential, can weight until Fallout 4, or whatever the next Fallout game after New Vegas will be.

to add to the topic, we should post what ideas we think would be good to add. That way, at least we have a mod list.....

I think I'm a pretty patient guy. I think I could wait two or three months from it's now release date, to a later one tow or three months from it. If it was for fixing bugs (as we know the engine it's on it bound to have many) I wouldn't have a problem with it. And if they decided to add some more content, I wouldn't complain. If it was just to yank our chains and have us wait, because they didn't want to release it on the already planned date, I'd be a little annoyed.

I want it released "NOW!!!!" as the poll said, only because it's the only game not delayed that I am really looking forward to this year. I know it's not a good idea to bet on a release date holding, but Fallout 3 delivered on time, and I think Obsidian will deliver this time too (excluding their huge delays of Alpha Protocol..........................................)

Theoretically, good ideas are always pouring in. If they delayed the game every time someone had another idea, the game would never get released. But you made it clear there is a limit to how many times a game can be delayed in the poll.

Considering the compressed development cycle I'm worried we'll be getting a beta riddled with bugs, most will never get officially patched. If it get's pushed back a quarter for more QA work I'll be cool with that.

I voted yes, simply because I want this game to be as great as possible, and I will be occupied with Mafia II.

I say just stick with the appointed release date, come what may. Patches can be made later on- be thankful we live in an age where that's possible on consoles. Besides, you can only add so much, and it's only one game. Hell, I'm not expecting this game to be the game that ends all other games, it just needs to be a good Fallout game.
I honestly think people expect too much here, but that's just me.

I wouldn't want it past 2011, but if it was too fix some stuff or whatever i wouldn't mind. Everyday I get closer and closer to a heart attack thinking about NV, but I am semi-patient.
