Could Dawnguard come with new skill tree's?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:30 am

Seems this DLC is including a lot of stuff that was created during Bethesda's (gamejam) week.

A big thing in the Jam video was Vampire Lord followed by Lycanthopy skill tree..
I'm really hoping they include Lycanthopy & Vampirism skill trees into the DLC.

Upgrading your abilities for your Vampire would make the value of Dawnguard awesome.
Also including Lycanthropy would make us Werewolves not feel entirely left out while slaughtering Vamps.

I have a feeling they won't leave werewolves out of the loop. I have a strange feeling these "Dawnguards" aren't what they seem on the surface. New skill trees for both would be amazing!

Aha, Maybe some Dawnguards will be Werewolves. I see what you mean.

Then again.. Lycans do like the night, the whole full moon thing and all lol

I know a lot of movies are doing this (Some horribly butchering it BTW)

But, in Bethesda's world, im sure they would make it amazing.

Maybe have some former members of the Circle from the companions as the leaders?... That would be nice.

I really hope not. The whole vampire vs werewolf thing is so overdone and cliche.

I am. If they make it into the oh-so-popular Werewolves vs. Vampires, I'll be extremely disappointed. This is TES, not Underworld.

On topic: who knows? It's possible. I feel we're about to get a vampire perk tree - maybe with various vampiric transformations? This one enemy that turned into a colony of bats comes to mind. I'd love it if Dovahkiin could do this!
And if vamps get a perk tree, then it's only fair that werewolves do too. Not that they're in any way connected with the DLC's plot, just because players expect it - an awful lot of people would feel left out if only vampires were given a perk tree.

I'd very much enjoy a werewolf skill tree. As the werewolf is right now, it's just irritating to play as, especially when you get one-shotted by more powerful enemies. Or perhaps it'll be a later DLC, as I can see how they'd integrate it.

I want the perk tree, but I don't actually want Werewolves involved in any other way in Dawnguard. I mean if they give Vampires a perk tree, they might as well give the Werewolves one too, even if it doesn't involve them actually getting any story time.

It might be cool if one or two people in the Dawnguard were werewolves.

Even though I prefer werewolves I wouldn't want this DLC to turn into werewolves vs. vampires though. The story as it looks now seems more interesting.

you know I just thought of that... if they add in a whole new perk tree for vampires (not saying it will happen... but as much as they are focusing on vampires here it seems highly likely) it wouldn't hurt for them to add in the werewolf perk tree at the same time.

One film series about vampires vs werewolves does not a cliche genre make...similarly we're going to ignore the Twilight saga, because that's tween smut not real vampire media.
On topic: the skill system is currently balanced so adding more skills would mean adding a new skill trees to each of the big three in a Monopoly-esque even build rule.
Also, a vampire skill/ability tree would be epic, as well as a werewolf skill/ability tree just to keep things fair.

Then again.. Lycans do like the night, the whole full moon thing and all lol
Except for the ones who count their lycanthropy as a curse and hate and fear the moon because they know they'll transform and lose control, slaughtering anyone close to them (literally and figuratively).

Well the only ones we meet in Skyrim (Companions) They embrace it, and look forward to the next full moon.

I still don't get why everybody is like "Will werewolves get left out?"
I mean vampires and werewolves are not salt and pepper...and even if they are you can have one without the other.

When there's an add-on or DLC for warriors do mages feel left out? Even if they do, is Bethesda not allowed to make new content that's strictly for one group and not its counterpart?
Its just silliness.

I made the original post reference due to the fact that Vampire's could possibly get a skilltree.
And in the GameJam video they showed an already created Werewolf skilltree in use.

Being able to become mystical creatures in Skyrim are hand in hand.
And its basically just Vampires and Werewolves... I dno bout ghosts lol.

There will now be two abilities where you can Transform.
Vampire Lord and Werewolf Beast.

If you do one Transformation skill tree, then do the other.

Who knows though really, I would love vampire and lycan skill trees, my main character is a lycan after all. I honestly just hope that I can still side with the vamps and keep my character a lycan

Why do people keep referring to the wolves as Lycans?

This isn't underworld as several of you pointed out. In any case, I highly expect the lycanthropy skill, one point or another.

They grant pretty nice perks, but I don't like the idea of being a monster, or think they are cool. D:

I wouldnt be suprised if we get one new skill tree that governs both werewolves and vampires, as all it would be doing is have 5 points that would increase armour and damage, then it would branch out to one side being werewolf perks, the other being vampire lord perks then both coming back to give the ability to have multiple transformations. That way both sides get a way to buff them selves without the need to add in 2 completely new skill trees. It will be interesting to see if cross bows will use the archery tree as well considering that bows and Xbows are extremely different in use.
