I'm not sure what the event viewer is. Where do I find it?

I found the event viewer, but i don't see a way to print multiple messages. This is my most recent BugCheck error as XML.

Alright, you’re having the same blue screen error as I am (or very similar at least). As far as I can tell something’s causing our graphics drivers to try and divide by zero. However I may be wrong.

The advice I was given was to boot in safe mode uninstall any and all video drivers on your machine and reinstall them, and stop overclocking your CPU if you’re doing so. You can try that and if it doesn’t work then chances are you’re going to have to wait for either patch 1.4 for Skyrim or the next driver release and see if that fixes the problem.

Okay. Have you had any success doing that?

I thinking that it's overheating. I just played it a little while with a temperature monitor and I got up to 100° C. Is there anything software-wise that can be done against overheating?

Given that the root cause is inadequate cooling in the first place, which is a hardware problem, you need a hardware solution to put an end to overheating.

I haven’t had a chance to try the fix I posted yet, that’s just what was suggested to me.

According to Intel the maximum temperature that the CPU in your laptop can run at before you start damaging it is 105? C. I’d strongly recommend that you do something to bring down the temperature. What temperature is your computer running at when you’re not playing Skyrim?

If you’re looking for some way to lower the temperature through software try lowering the maximum processor state under advanced power settings for when your laptop is plugged in and make sure that the system cooling policy for when the laptop is plugged in is set to active. Lowering the maximum processor state however will degrade performance. I’m not sure that either of those suggestions would help much if at all though.

As far as hardware cooling solutions for laptops go all I can think of is cooling pads though from my experience they don’t help much. Would someone else mind confirming / disconfirming this for me? Another solution is to open up the case and blow out any dust you find with a can of compressed air, but if your vaio is anything like mine you’ll need to dismantle most of the laptop to do that.

Ok guys, as I heard those discussions over and over again (especially those driver and overheating ideas) just take a look at this topic:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1314508-unofficial-black-screen-hard-crash-thread/

This is where all we "hard-crash-guys" should meet because there is the most information about the hard crashes. Try also looking at the earlier episodes of this topic.
