From what I saw in that video, it looks like Steam Workshop automatically updates your mods for you. Not sure if that's a good thing, some updates (and uninstalls) require more than just a replacement of the .esp.

He talks way too fast. Why?

Anyway, it sounded too positive. `It`ll just download and install to your game.`

Well great, but everyone knows it is not that simple. People will still need to make sure that Mods don`t conflict and all that, will steam know the difference?

No. They make it sound like Steam will simply do all that for you, it won`t. You still need brains about your downloads.

Can't wait to download the 'Realistic Khajiit Hairballs' mod, personally
I'm not sure I'll use the Steam Workshop honestly. Mods are complicated animals at times, and many, many times I've chosen to use older versions of mods instead of newer ones. If the Workshop lacks that functionality it could be a problem.

Why do you always sound so negative ?

Its not really steams job to make sure your mod dont conflict with another mod. Im sure if mod creators test their work beforehand things would go great.
Now dont get me wrong im not saying there wont be flaws in the system but with all things it can and will be improved as time goes by.

I really liked what I saw, the Creation Kit seems great.

Anyway, I think you should put this link to the Bethesda Blog in the OP: http://www.bethblog.com/2012/02/01/first-look-creation-kit-and-skyrim-workshop/

If it came out as fast as they talked we'd all be happy.

It`s not negative, just catious wisdom.

Because it`s wise to know exactly what`s possible and not get people who don`t know rushing into something blindly and destroying their 50+ hours game. It should be explained in the vid that people will still need to sort their mods first by reading the README before downloading.

I can see it now, new users d\ling everything and then posting up when they have totally ruined their game. It will happen.

I see your point. If i understand you correctly you are refering to people just creating a bunch of stuff uploading it without testing it. Well if the system works well it should just be a case of click on a button on steam and the mod will be uninstalled ( If the installer know the directory structure ofcourse). I really hope it makes some sort of note on what files goes where etc.

Have to say that that dialogue inteface is a huge improvement from GECK and Oblivion CS. It'll be easier to make custom races be recognised as vanilla races, like i did for many race mods for Oblivion. It also helps that there are only three lines where the race is mentioned :P
