Ridiculous idea, first of all its very hard to pull off. bethesda is not going to convince ps3 and xbox to switch networks. and do u even know how much xbox and ps3 players hate each other? really devoted fan arguements all night baby

That would be great! I know that they managed to pull of cross-platform for universe at war! ONly good bit about that game. Bethesda could do that for this.

Please remember the following rule when posting in this thread:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/
7. Flaming is not allowed.

Insulting individuals or groups of members and name calling are flames. Any remark that is made to insult another member or group of members will be considered a flame and thus you may receive a warning for it.
Calling people a troll or an apologist for instance can both be considered a flame as can calling someone stupid or ADD. Attacking Xbox playes,PS3 players or PC players is not allowed and calling them "console kiddies" or in anyway indicating someone is in some way a lesser person because of their choice is considered a flame here.

Note the bolded part. As long as we don't get into a flame fest the thread stays open, start picking on one another about platform/console choices and who's better than who and it's closed without further ado. :)

games already try to be 'cross platform,' in their design. You have console games and PC games sharing the same control schemes, or being ported, making them the same experience on every platform. If a game is made for console and PC - it should be a console and PC game, not a merge of the 2. have the PC version utilize the pro's of the PC, and consoles should play like a console game. Enough of this trying to make it the same all around. There's a reason PC's can cost so much money, stop trying to make them into consoles.

As far as real cross platform, for this to truly be worth it, it would need a bunch of options to go with it. It couldn't just be console and PC playing on the same server, that wouldn't work out. You would need server options like 'only console', 'only PC', 'PC and console.' Of course all these gamemodes would need options like FF, auto-aim, bots, etc.

Shadowrun had PC and console, but it was horribly done - the PC controls were dumbed down for "balancing" issues. If you want a 'true' PC and console experience, It would be untweaked mouse/kb controls and untweaked controller controls. No auto-aim, no 'balancing,' just the skill of the players to aid them.

I think the only real advantage would be that you could play with your friends on other platforms. But the friends systems wouldn't even be able to support that :ahhh:
Unless i suppose they made some in-game friends system. oh welllll why am i even bothering to think of things XD
It would be very very very unlikely

1st. Console Wars come in.

in dont see what the big deal is. just put your controller on max sensitivity. thats what i do. and personally i dont like playing on the pc because the sensitivity on the mouse meessed me up. so i mean i really dont care about pc or what ever having an advantage but i think cross platform is a good idea. but microsoft and sony together would be like putting a Klu Klux Klansman in a room with a Black Panther.

Even with the sensitivity on a controller turned up to max, players would still be not much of a challenge against m/kb. Your "max sensitivity" is like the low setting on my mouse...

Don't underestimate high sensitivity of console controllers...

regardless of how "high" the sensitivity is on a controller, it's not much use if you can't maintain control over the movements. Using a high sensitive mouse is much easier to have control over vs high sensitive anolog sticks.

Deleted several posts... let's cut the console war stuff out of these discussions. Thanks

Since Brink won't have cross-platform play, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread.
