Crossbows from Morrowind making a comback, people want Spear

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:36 pm

But what about the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Glass_War_Axe#Throwing_Weapons from Morrowind such as darts, knives and stars? Yay or nay?

What of daggerfall's Flails? What of mithril and adamantium?

( Darts were awesome) But there needs to be More different Crossbows. Morrowind had only two (three with bloodmoon) and that is why they were not considered great.

What of javalins and katanas? Why do i not have an odachi? what of nuckle dusters and qatars?

I never really used them, if i wanted ranged i went with the good old bow, or once a crossbow.
Im not overly fussed by spears but i would like to see Halberds/Glaives involved, large variety of attacks and can be completely different depending on there weight.

( Darts were awesome)

Indeed they were, but probably (for me at least) because they were easy to pin point on the target, since the stars and knives had a strange "arch and curve" to it.

i personally wouldn't care for the stars, but i'm a fan of variety and extra content that can help with roleplaying. so Yay.

More weapons means more variety which means more replayability. I want to see Flails from Daggerfall return too.

Throwing weapons were pretty useless in Morrowind though. They should have something special about them if they were to come back. Maybe poison potency amplification effect or some such.

In Morrowind, there was a DLC that made some arrows be Area of Effect, as well as a quest in vanilla that involved unique darts IIRC.

I wasn't really a fan of crossbows in Morrowind as I usually kited targets when I was outdoors (ie shooting at them while backing away). The reloading animation for the crossbow meant you had to constantly stop allowing your target to catch up with you a lot sooner. The crossbows were nice for one shot stealth kills in dungeons but I didn't really see any point in carrying two ranged weapons.

More weapons = win win :bunny:

I would personally love to get medium and unarmored back from Morrowind, never played it but the skills would open op for more role-playing and more different characters :tes:

Especially unarmored, it makes sense for the Mages.

Forget spears and throwing weapons, I want a dang staff that's not a magical rocket launcher...

I think that most of that stuff is coming, since Bethesda decided to bring crossbows back...hopefully spears and such are on their way as well, though I doubt we'll see Medium armor ever again.

I'd wonder why later rather than sooner but whatever...

The more weapons back the better. Even if not this DLC I heard that they might make more than 1 DLC... so who knows. Until then we have mods. Would love to see Light, Medium and Heavy armor back.

More weapon types = Varied NPC's = Varied fights = Need for strategem/weakness- strength vs player vs build = replayability = better for Skyrim.

And also that one psycho [censored] in the Mournhold sewers....The one that somehow killed a high ordinator, her best friend, and aquired a full suit of glass armor, daedric bow, and 50 insanely powerful poison/paralysis arrows with huge explosion diameter. And I remember they were bugged and respawned another stack of 50 when you searched her body again. I never understood that quest. Like how she knew about the treasure, and how it got there in the first place.

Darts were my favourite morrowind weapon. Although i would be fine if they were re branded as throwing knives.

Never been a fan of throwing weapons,

Just the idea of throwing my weapon at someone(therefor leaving me unarmed) just doesn't seem to bright. Though I support this for the people who want it.

You wouldn't through your sword at them... it was an assortment of throwing stars and daggers... quite useless imo..

If the rumored snow prince will make a return we can expect spears to do so as well (you guys who played bloodmoon knows why). I would rather see new types of spells than weapons. We are getting crossbows, but what will the mages get? I hope for more summoning creatures and teleporting.

GameJam's bethesda game reel showed crossbows, spears, flails, vampire lords, werebears etc.

As you can see, some of the content is already being released in the Dawnguard downloadable content.
So do not worry, people. I'm sure they'll release the rest of the features in other bundles of downloadable content.
Just don't be impatient, because karma dislikes impatience! and you won't get anything if you do as so.

If Mages get Teleporting, then I'm definitely editing my build. Unless Teleportation is in the Alteration school then I'm fine.
