I've got to know, are crossbows going to come in all of the vanilla Skyrim flavors? Elven, Dwemer, Daedric and all of that? I love the idea, I'm so excited that my khajiit finally gets another weapon type to use aside from a bow but I'm going to be sad if I'm stuck with one style of crossbow. I want to craft amazingly cool looking crossbows of all kinds with similarly fashioned bolts for them.

Has there been any word on different materials for them? If not, I was hoping to stir up a discussion and maybe find an official answer so we can either confirm or deny these suspicions.

To me, the only Cossbows that make sense are:

Steel

Orcish

Dwemer

But I don't necessarily feel they should follow the same formula as current weapon materials.

Steel Crossbow should be comparable to Elven Weapons in terms of Raw DPS range

Orcish should be high-quality like the Orcish armor, and unlike the Orcish Weapons

Dwemer should match or exceed Daedric.

I think there almost certainly will be; the reason we're not seeing them is the same reason we only saw the Dragonborn in Iron, Hide, Fur and Leather before Skyrim's release - to keep them a surprise.
