Damn You gamesas

:swear: I just beat Fallout New Vegas like 5 mins ago... I gotta say I'm very upset. STOP WITH THE END GAME CRAP!!! You did the same thing on Fallout 3 where after you beat the main quest line the game ends and we have to wait for the new DLC to come out before we can continue playing the same save game. You didn't do that with TES Oblivion or with TES Morrowind on the original Xbox so why are you doing it with FO 3 and FO NV? This is very annoying. There are still a lot of things I wanted to do before the new DLC comes out. (when it comes out) Why don't you pay attention to what the consumer wants because I'm sure there are a lot of people who would agree with me. I have logged over 129 hours on this save game alone... I don't want to start another save game just to do the [censored] I already did all over again and all the sh*t I didn't get to do yet. I hope some one at gamesas whom has the power to fix this DUMB end game crap reads this and takes it to heart. :swear:

I think they did this on purpose this time so they could realise another Broken Steel type DLC which means a lot of £$£$£$

I'm thinking there are so many options that a person could choose during the game that it would take about a kazillion lines of script to cover them all after the game ends. It would just be too huge so I understand. I'll have a Save before the end that I can go back to.

By gamesas, I think you're referring to Bethesda Game Studios, who developed the TES series and Fallout 3.

On the other hand, Obsidian developed this game.

Also, did you actually pay attention to the ending slides? My ending was nine minutes long, full of information and content. Extremely satisfying and rewarding.

1)Obisdian made this, not Bethesda. And they chose to have a definitive end due to the amount of work post end game content would require. There are four separate questlines each with an ending, plus multiple outcomes for other quests, most of which are covered in the ending slides.

2)Obsidian have said mutiple times they will not make a Broken Steel style DLC that opens up the game after the end. If they do buckle down and make one, I hope that the only thing the DLC does is open the end. No new quests, no new items, nothing else new. That way those of us who don't want to play after the end won't worry about missing out on content.

Yes... it's a conspiracy.

If you were a regular member of the forums you would have been fully aware that there was an end to the game that follows in the tradition of every Fallout that has been released.

Oh boo-hoo the game ends when you beat it just like 99.9% of all video games. You have no right to be surprised they warn you before beginning the final mission there's no turning back. As others have explained a thousand times over. There are to many possibilities to account for. And what would be left to really do? with one or both of the major factions gone a few of the minor factions also gone, either destroyed, absorbed by the legion or simply left. For the most part you'd be left to simply wander the wasteland and kill wild animals. Which you can do without beating the game.

Opinions vary. I made a statement of probable assumption. You are making an asinine assumption. You DON'T know how many people would agree with me or not. So would you please be so kinda as to keep you unproductive opinions to yourself just because you don't agree with me?

We've had this discussion lots of time before and I think that 51% or more has always been in favor of the ending sliders over continuous gameplay.
You could always make a poll and see how many people vote for what.

Both of your opinions are just that, opinions. Many people are perfectly fine with the game coming to an end because as we all know, all great things must come to an end. As for calling his opinion unproductive, I'm not entirely sure yours was productive either. The bulk of your post could be summarized by saying "The game ends and I don't like it. I think that was a bad decision."

gamesas made the DLC not because the player can keep on playing, but the ending itself and how one is railway'd to it is horribad.

Here at this forum, this debate has rung almost everyday, and it always seems to tip slightly in the NO ENDING group's favor.

PS. I am part of the NO ENDING group.

Nah, keep doing endings - that's my opinion. Or at least ask the player after the ending before dropping him back in and do not, repeat: do not let an open ending interfere (in any way) with what ever differing storyendings you might come up with. At least with Fallout, I don't give a half how it's handled in TES.

Multi-endings weren't handled at all in TES as far as I know because there is only one possible way to play the main story in those games... Follow the yellow brick road.

Nah, you need worse grammar, like this: "wut about using both im ultrac00l now arnt i?".

... What were we talking about again?
Ah yeah, endings.
*Ahem*, I honestly hope every single Bethesda game has an ending without any DLC from now on.
I don't see any point in playing afterwards anyway.
I like the ending because I can finally put my character to rest knowing it's complete.
But quitting the character afterwards feels... Weird... Like there's something I haven't done, that the climix of the game has yet to come.
So yeah, I loved Oblivion, hate/loved Fallout 3 and I've yet to play Morrowind but I'm certain I'll love it as well, but the "play after ending" is crap IMO and I hope they make every game from now on have a proper ending.

the game would have a very hard time continuing after you finish the main quest even with DLC. most of the side quests that are in New Vegas are tied into the main quest some how. Also why do you think an RPG should not end? an RPG is a bloody story all good stories have an ending. the ending talks about what happened like 10 years after your events in New Vegas. Just play through again with a new play style and different faction and u have a whole new way to play the game

:sigh: Looks like someone else somehow missed that billboard-sized game-pausing "Warning! Entering this mission takes you beyond the point of no return!" box. It's amazing how many people manage that, it really is.

How about everyone quits with the colour/bold/capitals stuff and discussed the end game. K?

Personally I am not bothered if the game ends - I haven't completed the main quest yet as I keep wandering off to do all the side quests. By the time I get to the end I will have done everything and it will be time for a new character and approach to it all. :) 75 hours of fun so far.
