Dawnguard Beta Discussion #13

yeah, but theres only so many moderators, and threads can only be locked by mods or Beth staff, and theres usually only ONE moderator on the TES forums at one time, very rarely are two moderators and two beth staff in the same forum :confused: long story short, it only gets locked when a mod locks it
can't the original creator delete it?

Let's just hope that they don't pull a fast one over us by saying "oh sorry but because of high volume of Internet usage the servers crashed"

i rember the cod 4 beta. (came out on a Tuesday) id say a good 60% got in and there were twice as many applicants

But that's Call of Duty. It's also a full game.

I've seen mod-fests before, you'd think you are living in Nazi Germany or something. Totally Big Brother when you got 5 of them swarming one area :P
I have a feeling it will be a couple hundred people selected. Too few and they may as well have just tested internally, too many and there loosing money from people getting it for free. Given that thousands of people probably applied, I'm not feeling too confident about getting in :(

Put it into perspective though, handing people a 20 dollar beta is cheaper than hiring dedicated QA, so I would expect several hundred, if not a thousand people playing Dawnguard.

Oh God, what if you do get it but the servers crash while you were downloading....

I heard he can lock threads just by staring at it, and the thread just locks itself.

If I get into the Dawnguard beta, the first thing I'm doing is going to Dawnguard slowly while playing epic music.

These threads don't get deleted. They get locked. That way people continue to have access to the information therein. They just can't post in it anymore.

Yeah, a thousand people seems possible, some people think that 90% of people will get in, it will probably be about 10% max :( Some forget that for all the people on here talking about the beta there are many many more who have applied but don't talk on the forums... :D

according to what i've read, the beta will be released two weeks prior to the official release. and i've read that the official release is on the 26th. therefore, we should get the codes tomorrow, not today. (if we are lucky enough)
