Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #7

I don't think anyone has ever done a Beta for DLC before. I can't recall this kind of Beta.

Beth said we can expect the codes NEXT week, but they said that LAST week! There probably won't even be a beta at this point!

Just realized that tomorrow is officially the start of "next week." Not even legions of dremora valynaz will be able to pull me away from my computer as I stare at my inbox and hope that I am lucky enough to receive a code.

Well, I signed up the day that you could first sign up for the beta but I created my forum account a couple days after that. Will this effect my chances of getting into the beta?

Sadly no idea what it is based on, some say what you filled out was just there to be filled out and will have no regaurd to getting into it, if it does than that blows because people could spend thousands of hours in the game and still not even beat the MQ if thats what they are looking for :/

I dont think its based on your forum stats at all, they just want you to have a profile so you can report the bugs.

And come to think of it, I'm not familiar with any Xbox open beta programs by any other publishers, either.

Do the Halo 3 and Halo Reach Beta's count as open beta's? Beta definitions are a little unclear for me

It wasn't really open since you had to buy Crackdown and Halo 3:ODST, respectively.

I would pay double the price of the DLC to get it early.

I was lucky to be one of the first people to pre-order the game in Australia so I got first choice on whether I wanted to buy a Collectors Edition or not. There were only 2 copies of the CE for my local store and most places in Australia had a similar amount of stock. I paid for the Collectors Edition as soon as it was announced and that set me back $250 AUD.

The excitement of opening that box is something I will not soon forget, and the game itself has gone on to become my favorite game of all time. I have played Skyrim just about every single day since the 10th of the 11th 2011 and am very excited for this expansion to the beautiful world I have spent so much time in.

Okay, so the Dawnguard armor looks cool.
Anyone know if it is actually useful to a high level?

Damn, if they're releasing the letters to the selected applicants at Monday, or Tuesday, I'm going to have to finish my final tests in school first before seeing if I'm chosen or not.

Brown nosing? Just kidding

But I wouldn't pay double when I can get it in about two weeks, if I dont get in the beta.

As sad as it is, I don't think that people will be chosen based upon their loyal past with the company. :( Though I assume the emails will go out starting monday, they need to get enough codes out in the time they have. Since Todd did say that they will be sending them out a week from the day he said it, so hold on to your butts. :)

Might also be based on time you spend gaming.
