Dawnguard Beta - Thread #26

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 4:18 am

I didnt think that this many people would know bout the beta. I signed up only like 5 or 6 days ago. maybe the first to sign up will have a higher chance of getting accepted today and those who signed up later get it tommorow. the only reason i have this profile is so i can get dawnguard. I think the main reason bethesda put out so much info about the beta was so they could get more publicity on their forums. I mean havent you all noticed the increase in laymen lately. This site is spamed with laymen and novice.

If the Beta was US only... then why is there a segment saying are you US or International and it doesn't say anything???
Maybe it was a way of ruling out a mass amount of people...

The full 100% were based on criteria that was answered and the vast majority were existing forum members. It's small percentage of folks that got into the beta, but there's still plenty of folks participating.

thanks gstaff, looking forward to release in 2 weeks.

Gstaff always does this. Runs off when he's scared to answer. I need confirmation.

Ho ho, posting a lot in the forums has nothing to do with it, i've played betas were atleast the company picked a good 100+ people to test it so they got more results, not -20 people. It shows how this company doesn't want that "Big amount" of results. I can see there being bugs right when the DLC comes out .

i was speaking hypothetically... touche for being on the same page, i thought you were another whiner for a second...

i want the DLC when its ready and i will be more than glad to pay for it then, however... i wouldnt have mind taking the risk on a possibly broken installment into the only game that i play right now. if there are gamebreaking bugs... i will find them, its my luck, and I dont want that lol

All of this feels like deja-vu. Oh yeah nevermind Bioware did almost the same thing with facebook only you actually got some sort of reward eg. "The Far Cliffs Of Kirkwall" so now facebook has a few more svckers to add to their members. Same with Bethesda its all about getting 2 million (probably lots more) people worked up and excited just to give them a swift kick in the cods by only allowing half of one percent of those that applied get accepted. Is it just me or doesnt it seem a little too close to crunch time to only allow that many people in. Especially when at least 1/3 of them are NOT going to report problems.

Harshly worded but completely true.

Can't say that I'm not somewhat disappointed that I didn't get in, but I'll get over it.

NDA's are hard to enforce overseas. Gstaff said he wasn't sure about US onl last week.

Why bother posting about how you're done with this company? You joined the forum last week and are complaining like you just got mugged

I don't know why people keep on saying that the Beta is US only when there was clearly an option that said "international." Seriously, how hard is it to understand that its not just the US that get to participate in the Beta lol.

Same, if I was to get picked I would of posted all the bugs I came across. Noticeing me and a whole lot of friends have gone through many bugs on the game as it is. What makes me laugh, say if there was 20 people picked today, 15 of them will not post on the bug forum because they only signed up to get a freebie.

Not definite but looks that way. If it's true they're idiots for tricking those who aren't in the US.

Well they aren't employed by Beth so, I can't imagine them being told they can't sign up.

Doesn't mean they'll be forbidden from signing up though just because they need to watch for spoilers.
