Dawnguard Beta - Thread #27

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 11:16 am

Not gonna lie. If I get an email from Bethesda tomorrow my bowels will spontaneously empty themselves from sheer excitement.

EDIT: I'm not a layman anymore! :D

I've not entered into the beta but was wondering just how long they said it will take. They said released on the 26th. Does that mean the xbox 360 beta? or the actual version for xbox 360. Putting in mind that computers (well laptop here) won't get it until a month after then that means gotta wait like... to at least 26th july plus? D:

Also wanted to know if they had given the codes yet? A friend of mine is signed up to the beta and not sure if she has got in yet.

You had to be part of the forums before you did the beta sign up to be chosen.
I honestly didn't know that until today. Then after I signed up for the forums, I went for the beta again, but it had been closed.
Oh well, June 26th isn't far away.

Beta will most likely run until the release, on the 26th of June. Which means PC users most likely won't see DG till July 26th.

and 75% of the beta codes have been sent out. The remaining 25% will be sent out tomorrow.

However keep in mind that less than .5% of the applicants actually got invited to the beta.

Although I joined for the beta, I think I may stick around this place, at least for the entirety of my playing Dawnguard on release.

when 1.6 came to xbox i thought it would keep my mind off of dawnguard for a couple of days. It took about 3 hours of my horses dying adn me having to go buy another one for 1000 gold before i got tired of it. someone like me with 280 hours into skyrim should have been accepted into the beta, while those who delved around 20 hours into skyrim before going back to cod should not have a chance to get into the beta. maybe i would have been accepted if i would have lied and said i played as a vampire in the beta sign-up.

Seriously? This again. Whining wont help.

Why did they give out so few codes? It seems like they would want a really large amount of feedback. Unless a million or so people applied and they gave out codes to half a percent of those people theyre getting very little participation. And even that seems like a small number of people.
Why dont people understand this. THEY GET THE DLC FREE. If they have a huge amount thats like giving away tens of thousands of dollars.

Some guy is challenging Pete Hines. If he kills him in unarmed cyber combat, will he get to take over Petes flock?

Same, the other gaming websites I joined, tend to have a lot of people who bash Bethesda's games...and I can't really talk to them since Elder Scrolls and Fallout tend to be games I like to talk about

For a second there I thought you were gonna write "It helps that I'm Canadian: that means I'm used to disappointment."
I was gonna lose my [censored] laughing.

Thanks a bunch for the fast reply! :goodjob: E-Cookies for you! *Gives cookies*

.5%... ouch that is a slim chance. Goodluck to everyone that has applied then. Don't worry too much if you don't get in though. Not long to wait. Only a month or two.

Nah, I just apologized and let it go. I wasn't trying to challenge him, anyway. I just wanted to understand the reasoning behind the decision. And I still don't have an answer.

One of the mods just said that 15 out of the 40 members they could see in the "secret forum" were new members.
