If barely anyone reports bugs, Bethesda might have to do another beta. (This is just speculation)

This is how I see it:

There will be so many bugs it'll break everyones Xbox, they'll fix it and then release it on PS3 and PC only to find there so many different bugs that need fixing. And judging how many months it took to fix the game, I reckon Dawnguard will be playable by mid October. Then once they release the final patch it will mess up the main game, like the water bug.

you think it's going to be worse then the 1.2 patch that caused the backwards flying dragons.

Yeah but I figured just skip that and go straight to the download, so I can get it like 5 mins faster.

Totally worth it.

5 minutes faster? At the most it'll probably be 2 minutes faster. I already have my 1600 points in my xbox, all I have to do is buy the download.

They'll probably get all of the debilitating bugs that result in the quests coming to a screeching halt or issues w/ crashing but leave the smaller bugs for another patch. No offense to Bethesda or anything but they really should have picked the beta testers to those who have been on the forums longer than 5 minutes so they could possibly avoid a majority of the free loaders.

Forums aren't everyones cup of tea. I'm sure there are many good candidates for bug testing who don't bother with forums. On top of that, im sure that between questionnaire answers and forum input, most freeloaders would have been weeded out.

Going by the apparent amount of 'I dint get da beta' butthurt which apparently followed the emails being sent out, I'd say they did a good job. Not to mention a couple of the guys they chose gave me immense confidence in their selection policy.

Will it be buggy? Of course, but it's one of those things I think we'll have to accept as gaming gets more and more advanced - new stuff will be buggy.

Hmmm, I'm not sure why you come here, question someone, ignore their responce then propose people are 'bitter' about not being picked.

Well obviously we are but not because we weren't picked, but because people that joined/ will never come back to the forums got picked because they signed up for the sole purpose of it being 'free and early'.

I personally think a lot of people that got in the beta had no intrest in beta testing, I think they just liked the fact that they can play it early and get it for free. But I do believe there are at least some people who will take their role more serious.

Who gives a [censored] about how long they've been on the forums? They must have fit the criteria that Bethesda was looking for.

The only problem is that Bethesda is set on releasing it for Xbox first all the time, so in order to do a PS3/PC beta those versions would have to come out first. I don't know why they just don't have a beta across all platforms, had more than half of 1%, made them buy it at the end, and the DLC came out at the same time for everyone... but NOOOOO they have to make it difficult -.-

Some of them could have lied about their stats for the beta sign up, or created more than one sign up entry.

lol. Because someone that doesn't like forums isn't going to report bugs. And I really doubt they went though every entry in a week then sorted through the thousands that were most likely the same, get real.

Well if most of the beta codes got sent out to little kids. You better call an exterminator you're going to need one.

So true....

So you're suggesting that "forums" are the only way to report bugs?

Quite indeed, it's already been stated that they will be reporting to a closed (private forum).

So what if they did -- nobody knows what Bethesda was looking for.

I think it's obvious to the vast-majority, I also wouldn't doubt that people that put their weekly play time at ten hours got picked.

If some of them lied about their stats just so they have a better chance of getting the beta. Do you honestly think they care enough to come back here to post bugs and glitches?

It's obvious? Then please tell me what the criteria was, because I am obviously a clueless dolt that has no idea.

Two characters +, one vampire one not, ample time to play per week and a dedicated overall playtime.

Clearly they wouldn't pick someone that doesn't play or have experience with the game.
