Dawnguard new weapons

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 8:32 pm

What do you think the weapons will be. We have seen many in the trailer. I think the axes we have seen in the trailer are mithril. Why? Because gargoyles (as seen in the trailer) can only be harmed by mithril weapons. Do you think I'm right about this and do you think there will be more weapons than seen in the trailer? Discuss and speculate.

Edit: I also wonder whether some of the new armour shown is mithril as well because it looks it.
Edit 2:
People do you think that the bow shown at 0:50 on the trailer is dragonbone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZqXKZOS2jQ

I sort of mean do you think there will be variations of crossbow as the one in the trailer has a steel weapon style.

shurikens (I wish :( )

I'd say there won't be an over abundance of 'new' things more like variations of current things.

Probably a lot of sidegrades, which I'm totally for.

I'm hoping for at least 3 or 4 new "Generic" material item sets (That'd make Two new materials per armor type) with unique items sprinkled in for good measure.

We might have material types that are better than Daedric at their base, but don't get the Smithing perk enhancement. Meaning Non-smithing specialization will benefit the most, while Smithing masters, or even experts (Glass-Ebony) will be better off with the old stuff.

I like the Armors I'm seeing so far though. Hopefully that's only a fraction of what's available though.

I have to say the weapons shown so far look great. Especially the mithril looking axe.

Indeed. I hope it's not a Legendary item, because a whole suite of weapons that follow that style would be wonderful.

It matches one of the armours so I assume that there will be more than one type of weapon in that style.

I sort of like the new metallic looking weapons. The black ones. Seems very streamlined and somewhat futuristic.

The crossbow in the trailer looked kinda small so I'm hoping for Light and Heavy crossbows. Obviously the 'Heavy' crossbows will be bigger and harder hitting than the 'Light' ones. I'm hoping for Heavies since my big burly Nord meathead will only settle for a man portable balliista that can turn a Thalmor pansyman into a pin cushion with bolts/arrows that can make a dwemora in full plate cry.

Wait your name is the same as a Battlefield 3 mod. Is that just coincidence? But yes I'm hoping for two or more crossbows.

Really? Wonder if the bow in the trailer is meant to be one. Is this new info that has just been released? Has the entire thing been released or is it still tidbits at a time?

Crossbows. I also think we will see silver expanded, I don't know about you, but that looked like a silver ax to me, correct me if I am wrong about that.

As I said in my original post I thought it might be mithril as mithril weapons are the only weapons that can kill gargoyles.
