Daylight gone?

I wonder if when you activated it vampires would start coming out and killing people on the roads?

I would love to see that.

I think it would be cool, especially if you are an evil vampire. It wouldn't work with my RP though. My vampire is a civil right activist for vampires.

It's assumed that it might just change the light color to a red during the day, or that it's similar to a shout in that you can call upon the eclipse for a short time.

If you look at the videos of people playing the vampire lord it dosent show the sun blacked out so I'm guessing it's a spell. Witch dosent really make much since cause all the vampires in skyrim would have to depend on you to go out during the day.

That would have big ramifications on a sequel (not that I'm opposed, just doesn't seem like a Beth thing to do)

This may be true "assuming" that they completed the quest line to the vampire lord story. Not saying that your not right because I'm thinking that that it may be a shout or spell now, just attacking the "assumption" part.

Probably just a power that you can use once a day to darken the sky.

Watch the trailer. When the Dovahkiin walks towards the camera, THAT is how it should look.

has anyone ever considered that the sun is blocked out by an Elder Scroll? Perhaps you read it to block the sun, and then read it again to unblock it.

Most likely will just be a red tinged sky during day time and night time will be the same as it is in Vanilla Skyrim.

It'll just make it so you won't get nerfed if you go out during the day as a Vampire anymore.

Edited. Instead, I shall address the person who mentioned it wouldn't work for the next game. Simple fix? Non cannon ending.

For those of you who say it's not good for continuacy for the sun to be blocked out permanently, Bethesda could very well choose a canon ending. They've done it before. Like in Oblivion, you get the chance to keep Umbra or give it to Clavicus Vile. In Lord of Souls, Clavicus Vile possessed the sword, so canonically the CoC gave him the sword. So, in conclusion, it's perfectly reasonable to permanently block out the sun in DG.

The Elder Scrolls are magical prophecies with the power to supercede a Daedras powers.

They use the Elder Scroll in Skyrim to
Spoiler
send Alduin into the future.
So I'm sure you can find one to block the sun.

When did they say that the actual sun was going to be "blocked"? I only remember them saying the tyranny of the sun shall end which doesn't necessarily imply that the sun will be blocked just that they will be free from the grip the sun had on them, maybe the Elder Scroll just removes the negative effects it has on the vampires? And when that red stuff in the trailer starts to "block" the sun maybe its just the start an AoE or something like that that will spread through Skyrim removing the negative effects sunlight has on the vampires, that could work with lore I think. But If someone can point me to where they specifically say the sun will be blocked I would greatly appreciate it!
