Daylight gone?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:58 pm

So stupid question but has me wondering. Upon finishing the Vampire side of Dawnguard and "blotting out the sun" does this mean there will be no more sunlight?

It's assumed that it might just change the light color to a red during the day, or that it's similar to a shout in that you can call upon the eclipse for a short time.

I read somewhere on here something that leads me to believe it is a shout power that blocks out the sun for the day but I am not 100% sure about it. May have just been propaganda.

Edit:And by block out the sun I mean like an eclipse not total darkness like at night but darker than if the sun was shining bright.

That's a good question; I hadn't even thought about it.

But I have to assume daylight will continue as usual, at least in the skyrim province. It doesn't sound very fun to run around in constant darkness.

i've been thinking this too, i really can't see the sun being blocked out permanently. some kind of power that blocks it for a limited period of time, enhancing vampire powers etc.

I've thought about this a lot too and I think that the vampires end-game wont neccesarily block out the sun, but simply take away the damage vampires receive from it.

Nice way to look at it. But how do you think that would play with the daily schedule of NPCs?

I have to think that NPC's routines will be unaffected, even if the world succumbs to constant darkness.

I was under the impression that their schedules are more effected by the time of the day, which would remain unchanged, as opposed to how bright it is. do they close shops up when its dark and rainy w/o a sun?

The sun will end, and the vampire lrods shall roam free! I will be swift in the dark, and I will destroy Skyrims enemies as the Vampire Lord Dragonborn!

I am also curious as to how this will play out. I doubt the sun will just be dark all the time. I would lose all sense of immersion.

Don't quote me on this, but this is what I have heard from "Certain" people. It will be an activatable thing, much like a shout that turns the sky a blood red for 10-12 hours (One day cycle) If my post gets deleted, then I would assume what I have heard and just said is correct. If not, then maybe not. You can never trust people without actually seeing it for your self.

I'm hoping it's isn't correct and it's just always the blood red thing that prevents the sun from affecting vamps

it wouldnt be blotting out the sun if vampires still became nearly helpless during the daylight hours
