37 Days, and Still No Updates

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:17 am

It svcks!! I put the game down for a week, sick of it and still hadn't finished it ... I couldn't stay away and thought I HAVE to beat this game at least one way through, put it in today played for two hours, shut it off .. played a couple hours later for an hour, doing the final mission, finally, save game file is 5400kb level 17, walked into Caesars camp AND ............. FROZEN! What the hell!!!

Mine started freezing just over 4MB :(
Beginning to think save size isn't related at all.

So basically what he is saying means 2 things,

1. They have not started a new patch (because they'd tell us)

2. They don't know if they will make a new patch (because they'd tell us)

3. They don't know that they won't make another one.. :)

They will most likely make another patch, but I doubt we'll see it until DLC comes out on the PS3 so they can address issues with that at the same time, instead of having to do multiple patches.

Or, they could give us the shaft and "not have any information at this time" forever. If they were at least working on it, I don't see why Bethesda would keep it a secret. They want people to know there trying to fix it so people will still buy it and recommend it.

So, logically, I presume we won't be hearing anything for awhile.

I'm going to give it another go this afternoon and I'm hoping that my 2 hours this week aren't wasted... There's always Blockbuster.

Any other RPG "must-haves" out there that anyone would suggest? I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I don't see a way to send Personal Messages.

Yeah, I pretty much only play RPG's these days and after ditching FNV (totally unplayable for me) I moved onto Two Worlds II and am quite enjoying it.

Funny thing is that on the Two Worlds forums there are people complaining about bugs and glitches but compared to FNV it is almost perfect.

After playing FNV you really gain perspective on what *real* bugs are like. :)

I turned it on the other afternoon and it froze 12 times in a row, all about 5 minutes after loading my last save game. I tried going in a bunch of different directions, tried fast-traveling out of that area, tried setting different quests as my current and it just didn't matter. It was almost clockwork. I got excited once and then it froze around minute 8.

I'm done. I'll try to get something back from Gamestop for it, but I'm done. I'll give Two Worlds a try but I think I'll be taking a break and spending more time on my fish tank in the coming weeks. Maybe get going again in a while. This process was so frustrating for me that game play became another stress, instead of being my outlet.

Thanks for that moment, Dr. Phil, now we can all move on. I'll give Two Worlds II a try. Should I play Two Worlds I first?

I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to playing Skyrim and I can hardly wait. But, I'm having a really hard time digesting the fact that they will just leave FNV they way it is. I'm at the point now where all I want to do is chuck it in the trash (maybe I'll try trading it first) But the game freezes, it crashes, it glitches, items dissapear, enemies get stuck in rocks (actually thats not so bad sometimes) and did I mention it freezes? Oh ya, it also [censored] freezes a whole [censored] lot. We got ripped off and if they (YOU BETHESDA) can't fix these issues then give us something else. Maybe Skyrim Beta access? Come on, it's probably the least you can do for all us dissapointed hardcoe Elderscrolls and Fallout fans. Well, if you still even listen to your fans, then at least acknowledge the fact that you messed up, Fallout New Vegas is an unfinished game, you ripped us off and if you want us to belive that your doing this for any other reason than money, give us something.

Thank God Skyrim is gonna be running on a different engine! Gamebryo should be locked in a vault forever.

Wow 54 days, and still they haven't told us anything other than the "Sorry but we have no updates to give" technique, good lord, was their new years resolution to abandon FONV? I mean come on? Some people got this game for Christmas and they can't even enjoy the game! Wow, I mean wow, this is tough for some people to digest, this is the first time I ever felt so ripped off by a company. I wish they could at least TRY to fix the game, I've been too patient, and so has a lot of other gamers, some even decided to sell the game. But if only everyone can complain about this game, out of the millions of copies sold there are only 6 or 7 thousand topics about hardware issues. I think that's the main reason why they aren't doing anything, they aren't doing anything BECAUSE THEY THINK people don't care, most of them sold the game and moved on. If only everyone complained they would be working on fixing it by now. Wow I really am disappointed, I really am.... what a load of **** BETHESDA! Thanks for leaving this forum in the dark for soo long.... I really am pissed.

Yup, I learned. So, then, we should be getting a patch when Dead Money comes out at the end of the month. Would it fix anything? Who knows. Will it break anything? ......

I dont get it, I never had issues with fallout 3. I played that game up until NV at least 5 playthroughs, and multiple other attempts at creating characters that didn't work out. Never had any issues at all with F3, but I agree NV is just horrific and nope it won't be fixed!

I'm sorry to say, but i have to shelve the game. My ps3 is ready to fry from the numerous reboot. I'm not optimistic that any patch can fix this game. I certainly feel like an idiot for preordering it. Well...it won't happen again :) Your lose bethesda.

I can't finish the game because of a bug near the end... And I didn't have a backup save in a spot that'll allow me to redo what I did, and be able to finish the game. It's beyond stupid that you get the quest from House to rescue the president; then get it again from the NCR (and because you already did it; breaks the whole chain: which prevents you from being able to complete the game.

I might pass on Skyrim; I don't care if this was Obsidian (which I should have learned not to trust them after KOTOR 2) and not Bethesda. Bethesda should be going after them and saying "instead of working on DLC and ignoring everyone; how about fixing the bugs in the game..."

Well I had no problem playing fallout 3, so I don't understand what you mean. Fallout 3 was so great that I decided to get New Vegas, and yet here I am pissed off about an unplayable game.

I agree I had no issues with fallout 3 and I walked the whole map at least three times! Got NV, didn't even get an entire map to explore and still can't get around without constant lag and the occasional game breaking freeze! On top of that I sold F3 just before I bought NV and wish I could go back as I don't play any other games!

Correct, here's the details we shared last night
Wanted to let you know there's a new game update coming soon -- these will optimize the game for DLC and cover some issues reported in our forums – including performance and stability. We’ll let you know when the update is released.

We should have some notes on the update when it's released.

Thank god, I was beginning to think that they really were gonna start to abandon this game -.-, well that sort of relieves me a little knowing that a patch is coming. I just hope that it will really fix this game. Hooray!

Man don't!, i brought the game two days ago and patch it up, it's seems that the 1.03 patch doesn't change a [censored] from the core game, i think you suppose to have the older patch already installed for the patch 1.03 to work, but there's no way for you to download the older patch if you're playing on console like me.

Okay, I won't buy it until the community says it's free of freezing. At least it's sold at bargain price these days, but even that is too much if it's unplayable...
