First off, this ISN'T another Lucky 38 or Mr. House thread. (For now :whistling: ) So you guys can relax. :laugh:

However, I've been wondering, how many of you have, even in the roughest forms, made your character? Personally I've already set in stone my character to be a diplomatic character. With the graphics of Fallout 3 and the in depth detail of Fallout 2, I'm expecting there will be alot of options for me to talk and have some interesting dialogue. Anyway, what kind of person will you be? A Legionnare? An NCR Ranger? Mr Houses aide? Or perhaps just you're just going to be your own unique person.

Independent route.

I'm planning by first character to be a young girl, 16-18, orphaned since she was 12 and living by herself. She's had to become the ultimate scavenger to survive - too weak to confront her problems directly, she always sticks to the shadows and avoids conflict, begging, borrowing, or stealing what she needs to survive. She gets along well with others, but has learned not to trust anyone in the long term. She's intelligent, loving to scavenge books to read in the long evenings of camping alone. When she needs to defend herself, she relies on pistols, which is always a last resort because she is a terrible shot.

SPECIAL:
Traits: Small Frame, Good Natured
Sneak, Lockpicking, and Survival for tagged skills.
Normal Difficulty, hardcoe Mode.

STR 4
PER 5
END 4
CHR 7
INT 8
AGL 6 (+1 with Small Frame for a total of 7)
LUCK 6

In other words - yeah, I'm looking to play through hardcoe with an extremely difficult non-combat, non-diplomacy, build on my first try! Yay, challenge! :tops:

EDIT: If I'm feeling masochistic I might even pull another point from STR and throw it into CHR, but Small Frame already drops possible carrying weight by 45 lbs if it works the same as in FO1 and FO2.

Ehhh, Well my usual special in Fallout 3 is

5S
6P
6E
6C
5I
6A
6L

Then I use the Intense training perk to knock my Int to 6 and the greyditch strength perk to make it 6, then I use bobbleheads to balance it out all to 7. As to F2. I believe it's 5,5,5,6,7,6,6. So most of my skill reliances are passive instead of offensive skills xD

I think i might try the energy weapon/explosive route the first time. I think that recharge rifle might come in handy in hardcoe mode since it doesn't use ammo.

Well, you have to limit your shots, you cant just rapid fire like crazy. It takes time for it to charge up. (It's in Dev Diary No.2)

yeah that is where i heard about it, i think if i use it right it could cut back on quiet a bit of weight, depending on disintegration rate and damage of course.

Name's gonna be Tanner, Hell Tanner and I plan to be a bit of a diplomat, just like I am in real life. ;)

My special will probably start out something like:

S=7

P=5

E=6

C=5

I=7

A=5

L=5

...think that adds up. Hopefully there will be opportunities for improvement...

I'm gonna play hardcoe and use melee as my fallback. If I can't talk my way into what I want, I'll just hack everyone to bits.

I'm gonna be on my side fo' shizzle :D , but I'll likely help either the NCR or the Vegas Indies.

I definitely won't be helping the slavers--nothing is that morally ambiguous.

I'm thinking about being a diplomatic survivalist (hardcoe mode on) with the ability to sneak around and steal to my heart's content. The use of melee weapons will also be important, since I like sneaking up on enemies and surprising them. Karma-wise, I will try to be closer to neutral. I won't hesitate to kill an NPC if I think they deserve it, and I'll do it in a very stealthy kind of way. But it's important that I try to keep my character as realistic as possible. In the end, he will still be considered a good guy. I don't want to just go around mindlessly stealing and killing. Everything will be carefully thought out. There are plenty of not so nice people in Fallout: New Vegas. They'll get what's coming to them.

If I follow this path, I will focus on these as best as I can:

Stats: Strength, Charisma, Intelligence
Skills: Survival, Melee, Firearms, Speech, Sneak, Lockpick (I still have to decide which three will be tagged)

Skills focus (bold skills will be the tagged): guns, sneak, survival, hand to hand, repair, lockpick

consider the general racial behaviour against ghouls, your character would be realisticly treated different if you where a ghoul, thus they would had to write (and record) all whole extra heap of dialogue to reflect your characters ghoul nature.

Plus it′s been a tradition among the Fallout game to be a human protagonist, so I guess Obsidian simply thinks that′s what people wanna play.

I'm just going to play as myself with different personalities. Most likely all in hardcoe mode.
First playthrough is always myself making decisions I would think I'd make in that situation. I'll be the type where I won't shoot you, but if you piss me off or attack me you'll be dead.
Then my second will be probably good or evil since in my first playthrough I am usually neutral.

This will mostly likely be my stats, I usually try to stay as even as possible.

However, I've been wondering, how many of you have, even in the roughest forms, made your character?

From literally 1000's of hours playing FO3 I know that I will be a small guns/sneak specialist with explosives likely as a 3rd skill. But until the game actually comes out and I get a feel for the traits and whatnot I won't know for sure exactly how I'm gonna set it up. Also, if the options are deep and there are multiple ways to do stuff, until I actually play I have no idea of knowing how I will go about doing them, so basically I'll wing it as I go. I don't have a set plan whatsoever.

Not sure what I'll be setting my S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s at, but my character will probably be a 19 year old kid that is pretty much out to have as much fun as possible, and wreck havok for anyone who stands in his way. For the most part I'll be 'good' (karma being less of a concern in F: NV, but still), but I'll pretty much steal anything that I want that I can't get otherwise. I'll probably want to specialize more in guns than melee weapons or unarmed combat (although I might throw in a few points now and then into unarmed in case I get stuck in a fist fight in a casino, although hopefully I could hide a sielcned 10mm... ''Hey, buddy, you shouldn't cheat, you know. *pfft* *pfft* Heh.'' *walks away as he bleeds to death, and no one knows the cause*)

A 5
L 5

Tagged Skills:
Guns, Sneak, Survival

Traits:
Wild Wasteland, Finesse (if present)
