Personally I found some things about it rather annoying on my first play through, I still enjoyed it but felt it was a bit too frustrating some times.
I'm playing through it again at the moment though and I'm absolutely loving it, the characters are fantastic and it's very different to anything you'll find in the Mojave.
Just be prepared for a challenge, it requires quite a lot of thought and can be very tough.

I loved as it had a pretty deep story behind the casino, villa and your companions
I'll give it an 8.5

I love everything about Dead Money except the placement of some of those damn speakers and their ambiguous ranges. Towards the end you have to take risks The Courier couldn't possibly be certain (in-character) would work just to find a safe haven. We really should have been given a more clear indicator as to where the speaker was going to kill us, as the sound came out of your neck and thus was no help determining where a speaker even was.

Beyond that, it's a great DLC that really turned up the survival aspect a notch. Playing Dead Money was the first time I ever needed to eat Fancy Lads Snack Cakes or Pork'n'Beans as a non-hardcoe character. The dialogue was very compelling and had a lot of depth. I was sad I couldn't bring Christine with me to the Mojave, because she was easily my favorite character. I also want Dog/God or Dean Domino as companions for my Evil character! The loot was very useful without being too overpowered, and the Light Touch perk is beautiful for my Laser Commander character.

I'll keep it simple, Dead Money is the best Fallout DLC since Mothership Zeta.

I am among the many Fallout fans waiting for Honest Hearts. Now I have heard bad reviews about Dead Money but is it true it is a horrible DLC and what benefits do you get from it (gear, weapons, etc.)

I liked it but i did get killed three times at the end so you have 2 be careful and look for those speakers...lol i like the story and i liked you could find out alittle more from Vericona after the dlc

Let me rephrase my post.

"However, if you're looking for a deep, engaging storyline as good or better than in the main game".

Dead Money had a good story, but it's no Fallout 2 is all I'm sayin'. But then again, it's not meant to. Like I said, it's a good survival horror game, which is kind of the point of the DLC.

It doesn't have the same scale. Taken that into the comparison. No, Dead Money is better. Its an excellent written short story and is IMO one of the best written games of all time. Better than F2. F2 suffers from a lot on the writing scale (Though it had tons of cool stuff). As a Fallout F1 reigns supreme.

I personally thought that dead money was one of the more imaginative DLC to come from Bethesda for the Fallout series. Companions are great as usual and the story line was interesting enough to keep me wanting to know what was going to happen. The people who wouldn't like this dlc are more than likely the run-n-gun type players, where Dead Money is definitely more of a pick your battles type of play. Dead money can be extremely frustrating at times but that's frankly what I like most about it. The Operation Anchorage dlc to me was just too easy and made it boring, when I do a new play through with Fallout 3 i tend to just skip Operation Anchorage while I've definitely made this one a must play on every character in New Vegas.

I liked the story, didn't like the collars so much but it made sense with the plot.

I loooooove the vending machines...I have sooo many drugs now, and weapon repair kits, etc.. very cool.

I detest games where you have to use your size 12's as mine detectors to find the solution. "Step, step ... BAM ... your dead ... reload ... step, step ... BAM ... your dead ... reload .. adinfinitum!!" It's not very creative, IQ say 20, to creat something like that. I am disappointed in DM completely. Seems it was put out to make a quick buck. I think the collars were added as an after thought when they found out it was too easy, quick and dirty solution. Oh, and what happened to the collar? I never got a message that it was removed or disarmed!! There should be something about half way through the game that allows you to remove it. Doing it again should be easier, but that's not the point. More creative thought by the designers would make playing it again enjoyable. But now I know what to do and where to go ... bleh!

The idea of the collars was fine, but the speakers were very poorly executed. There should have been a better way to let us find the speakers, some kind of beacon or range indicator given by our Pip Boy.

I beat and really enjoyed Dead Money. I liked the gameplay, story and the new characters. The items you can get, like the holorifle and assassin's armor are also very cool.

I recommend it ::thumbsup::
