Dead Space 2

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:35 pm

So, I played DS2 for about 4 hours last night. I gotta say, I'm really enjoying it. It feels just like Dead Space 1 with tweaks to what needed to be tweaked. I haven't tried multiplayer or anything, but i am glad they made the single player the main priority. So what does CD think of the new installment?

EA is really going at it with their marketing department.

Never played it, but if you saying its just like the first one then its not a game I would pay $60 for. Mabey $10 or $20.

I know what you mean. I like having a game to sit beside my other games. I have Dead Space 1, grabed it from EB for 9.99 used. Played through it, it wasnt amazing, it was alright. Still waiting on a survival games that takes the trophy from RE2, 3, 4

Yeah i got the original one also. It was a good game i thought, just not much replay value. It is a shame that Dead Space is the only semi-scary game on current gen. consoles. The Fatal Frame series holds the crown for scariest games i ever played, I am ready for a new Fatal Frame for all consoles.

Scary is nice, bit I want a fun game. Dead Space is not bad.

I'm just.. stuck up? I just wanna play some amazazing games. Games that make me want to stay up all night to play. Games that make me want to make other people play.]

Kinda rude, the way I put it, but.. that's what it is. I dont mean to put down anyone or any company.. but.. it is what it is. Constructive criticism, that's what it is :D

Condemned was okay. It was predictable though, same as Dead Space.

Yikes. Apparently I'm the only one here that likes Dead Space (actually, I remember a person here on CD that was equally or more obsessed with the first game than I was). I've beat Dead Space well over 15 times, literally. And I pre-ordered the collector's edition of Dead Space 2.

I'm on Chapter 5 after an hour and a half of playing, which is both disappointing and expected with recent releases. There's only 15 chapters I hear, so I'm 1/3 done with the game. So I'm going to guess it'll be just a little bit longer than Modern Warfare 2, which I beat in four hours. But so far I loved it even more than I loved the first. While it's not scary, it's fun and some parts get your adrenaline pumping. At least for me.

And the replica Plasma Cutter wasn't that bad with the LED lights. $20 for a cool looking light-up plastic fun, an exclusive suit and gun, and a soundtrack honestly wasn't that bad of a price. I also really, really dig the collector's edition box.

I haven't tried multiplayer just yet, but I sure hope it's good. Even if it's not, I'll be playing single player over and over like I did the first game.

I'm obsessed with the series :P

I too have it pre-ordered (only available monday here in the cold northern europe according to my webstore). I don't "Collector's Edition" like it, but i do "pre-order" like it :hehe:

i heard alot of improvements from dead space 1 to dead space 2. that's how you name a '2nd' game version. not like the COD series.

I look forward to playing this. I loved the first Dead Space, it's one of the few games in recent years that I've been able to play through multiple times without getting bored of it. I just hope that they have maintained the great atmosphere of the first game. I'll probably wait a while to get it though as I'm playing God of War 3 at the moment and don't really have time for too many games at once.

I finished it yesterday. Every part of the game was improved upon; I especially liked the ending and the missions leading up to it. A nice throwback to the first game.

It's kinda disappointing. I played a good bit of the first game before getting side tracked with other stuff and the thing about it was that I always felt like I was surrounded and at any moment, something could rip my head off.

10/10 for Atmosphere, sound, graphics for Dead Space

It's fairly cheap. However it always seems leading up to the sequel coming out for any game, at Gamestop, they jack the price up because they know people want to try the first game out.
